About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Is the Pro really a pro?
Played this course many times over past 15 years. Always friendly staff, a little slow play, greens in ok conditions.
I assume the Pro is new? He treats the players like children with where to park when “on deck” when you can approach the tee (only after the group ahead is off the green).
I come to relax and play golf not to be ordered around like a child by a guy who has to announce to all those backed up on the first tee that “I am the Pro here “.
Maybe he was having a bad day but he lost me as a player of this course.
Snowbird
The course was enjoyable. Greens were a little fast, fairways decent, and some tee boxes needed some love. Pace was good only caught the group ahead at the par threes. Still had a four hour and 15 min rd.
Only negative was the lady in the pro shop checking me in was rude. I was under the impression I paid online on Golfnow (I was incorrect) she didn't handle my inquiry and was impatient in waiting for me to look it up on my phone. I would play there again.
Great course for the money
I booked as a single and played with 3 great guys. Course was in decent shape for the money. Pace was a little slow but overall a good day
Nice layout and great greens
The course has lot of dog legs which is great. It requires some planning to get around and not just back and forth
The fairways didn't have much grass to them but that seems to be common at this time of year
The greens were great....fast and true
Pace was great until we caught folks playing back 9 on 14 Ranger should be out on back not front to keep golfers moving along otherwise great day. Played with Jim very nice man.
