About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Oh what fun!
Really enjoyed our first time on this course. If we ever get some rain, it will be beautiful!
Not Great
Punched and sanded greens, hard to find any real grass on fairways back tee boxes not mowed if it was more that 30$ it would be an even worse review
Typical Sat AM round
Greens were good. Fairway grass sparse, lots of tight lies. Pace of play slow (over 4 hrs). I realize 4 hrs isn't out of ordinary, just frustrating watching groups WAY overestimate their ability. Playing from tees too far back, waiting on tee for green to clear on par 4's and for 2nd shot on par 5's when not one of them had hit it more than 150 yds all day (that I saw), park carts 20-40 yds in front of green have to wait for them to move out. Staff excellent!
tricky and confusing
quite challenging . Narrow fairways, lots of trees and water, not to mention the sand traps . Very confusing layout and stressful especially if you lose a club which happened to me. Gracious and helpful , honest staff. Basic amenities . No cart on parking etc...

Have played here a number of times over the years. Always in decent shape. It is a popular course and, as a result, can be slow pace of play.
Decent Conditions Despite Drought
Met at check-in by friendly and accommodating staff (Lee inside, Phil on carts, and starter Denny P.) and sent out almost immediately. Finished in exactly four hours playing as a foursome. Greens were fast but hard to hokd due to dry conditions. Same with fairways, which were thin. Sand traps and tees in goid shape. Would play there again and can recommend this course.
They're doing a great job!
This course gets nicer every time I play here. But the last time I played was last fall when we were playing the 17th and 18th at 6 pm... sunset. We got in around 6:15 after closing bc... dark.
The only problem I had was the pace with a threesome ahead that often shot into the woods (L 7 R) and then spent too much time looking for their lost prize. Discussing the hole while standing on the green after finishing isn't too cool either.
All good. A wonderful round on the course - speaking about the course , not my game!!🥴
Solid value
Only did 9 holes (10-18) and was nice to start on #10. Very enjoyable for us with nobody in front but I could tell the course was slammed on #1 when finishing on the green at #18. Greens roll true, no disappointment there. Greens probably score the highest (tee boxes, fairways, greens). Tee boxes were also good, flat/level, pretty well manicured; no issues there. Fairways were good, maybe need some love in some areas but all things considered this was a great value course. Some sneaky hazards, a good challenge overall.
Nothing But Wonderful
The staff … everyone we came in contact with .. they were very friendly… the course is in great shape … but… 9 th hole kick our butts..🤪
The course is well taken care of and the pro shop has enough room for many customers.. nice an clean
