About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Golfer Reviews
Decent price, for a great course
I’d 100% play here again. Course was kept in great condition. Happy to play a course where the staff actually maintain & mow the course. Nice scenic course for the area. Reasonably priced for the caliber of course it is. I’d recommend to others for sure. Can be a little busy so your pace of play is a little quick, as you have players on you the whole time, but still an overall fun time & experience. 4.5/5 stars. Wish they had someone who came around & offered drinks to purchase. Buy drinks before & in the middle rounds
Fun course
Course is constantly being improved.
The course layout is great. Mark, one of the starters is very helpful to match up the golfers. Bob and office staff are tops. One of my favorite courses to play in Bradenton. Thanks to all!
Very Slow Pace of Play
Excellent friendly welcome from the starter.
First six holes was millionaires golf, but then we caught up with a painfully slow fourball, who in fairness were being held up themselves.
The most excellent starter recommended that we play the front nine twice, which we did.
Course and greens in good condition, but the day was spoiled by lack of courtesy, spatial awareness and people failing to understand the impact of slow play on others.
Great first round!
This is the first time playing this course. I think it is in good condition for the dry weather we are experiencing. The forward tees are good for beginners and shorter hitter’s and the tees farther back make for tight landing areas so it is challenging! Will be back!
Todays round
Tee boxes are hard, fairways hard, greens need work but they’re working on them. Shouldn’t be charging $10 for a rider fee
An overall excellent experience
My son and I were looking for a more challenging course than our usual. We found River Run through the GolfPass site. We are in agreement that we will continue to choose River Run for our 2 to 3 times a year golf experiences.
Punch it out
At this time they had just punched the greens. I was told before playing, which is always nice being warned. It did affect my play of course. There's still an ongoing issue with the ball washer maintenance... there isn't any. What water/soap was in these is nasty. I like having water stations scattered throughout.
Oh what fun!
Really enjoyed our first time on this course. If we ever get some rain, it will be beautiful!
Not Great
Punched and sanded greens, hard to find any real grass on fairways back tee boxes not mowed if it was more that 30$ it would be an even worse review
Typical Sat AM round
Greens were good. Fairway grass sparse, lots of tight lies. Pace of play slow (over 4 hrs). I realize 4 hrs isn't out of ordinary, just frustrating watching groups WAY overestimate their ability. Playing from tees too far back, waiting on tee for green to clear on par 4's and for 2nd shot on par 5's when not one of them had hit it more than 150 yds all day (that I saw), park carts 20-40 yds in front of green have to wait for them to move out. Staff excellent!
