About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

First time at River Run. Great layout, good greens, reasonable fairways for a Muni. Can’t beat it for the money, and I will be back, I hope many times.

Too slow !!
The course had to be over booked, we started two tee times late and had to wait on every hole while a twosome played behind us and gripped the whole time like it was our fault. Won’t be returning!

Good variety of holes
What you would expect of a municipal course. Greens in good condition and very playable. Some tee areas were a bit rough but still ok. Fairways were all in nice condition. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Played there twice this week and will be back again. Good value for this time of year in this area. Pace of play was good and the new golf carts are easy to drive. Well worth playing if you're in the area.

River Run 11/19/23
The course was in very good shape, grass in good condition all around, not much sand or bare areas. The course is not too challenging, perfect for various skill levels, including beginners. Not the most scenic course around, but solid value for the $$. Friendly staff and tasty hot dogs. Would recommend.

Poor Course Management
I booked a tee time because it was WIDE OPEN and when I got there it was so backed up I wouldn't have even been able to finish the round.
I don't care that it's backed up, I care that they don't update their tee times on the app. I would have chosen a different course that day.
Also, they are ridiculous with their return cart times, there will be 45 minutes of sunlight left after they insist carts are to be returned. Cart guys just want to go home so they give us some crazy return time. I've golfed here dozens of times and it never changes.
