About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Just okay
Great people, good prices, good greens, but layout is super quirky. Lots of blind shots. Tight course in spots. Greens rolled pretty good and fairways were decent, but pretty raggedy off fairways. Tee boxes were solid Bunkers were all playable. The course was just lacking character I guess. Small putting greens and only a few nets to hit into for practice.
Surprised
Play was extremely slow. Course in mediocre shape. Greens ???? Club house closed at half way point no bathrooms!!😢 hard for ladies to pee in woods. Did see one outhouse a bit late. Need a ranger to speed up play. Saw a few groups call it a day early. Disappointed played there several times. If you going to have tee times on Christmas Eve someone should be in club house.
Florida Golf
we play this course every year as we can walk. Never know what to expect in terms of pace of play as they do not tend to match us up and they send singles and twosomes. Course in best shape we've seen in years ; greens were fantastic. will play again and hope for good pace of play.
Slow but nice
One of our favorites in the area. Pretty good condition and an imaginative layout.
Course not in good shape. Why no coolers can’t bring food or pop must from them.
Nice layout good value
Played there a number of times. Staff friendly. Greens always good.. Fairways mostly good. Some tees are a bit scruffy but still very playable. If you want to play immaculate tees, greens and fairways then go and pay $150 to play a private course but if you want and enjoyable game of golf on a nice layout in reasonable condition then give River Run a try, you will not be disappointed.

First time at River Run. Great layout, good greens, reasonable fairways for a Muni. Can’t beat it for the money, and I will be back, I hope many times.

Too slow !!
The course had to be over booked, we started two tee times late and had to wait on every hole while a twosome played behind us and gripped the whole time like it was our fault. Won’t be returning!

Good variety of holes
What you would expect of a municipal course. Greens in good condition and very playable. Some tee areas were a bit rough but still ok. Fairways were all in nice condition. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Played there twice this week and will be back again. Good value for this time of year in this area. Pace of play was good and the new golf carts are easy to drive. Well worth playing if you're in the area.
