About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

We have played he a few times in the past and are never disappointed, it’s a great layout, everyone has different hazards, lots of doglegs, just a great course. The staff are really helpful and always smiling. Had a Great round of golf thank you .

Nice Course to Walk
This was my first time playing this course and it was a good experience. Most holes are straight and yet offer a good amount of natural obstacles to keep it interesting. Walking this one is a breeze and it is in good shape as it’s a links style course. The greens were sanded not too long ago but that had minimal effect if you roll it well.
I was caught off guard when checking in and being asked to pay the remainder of the cost. I’ve used GolfNow for many rounds and never encountered this before. No worries though… I wasn’t double charged, it was just the way the agreement with the course is and you’re only charged a holding fee from the app. Just know that ahead of time and all will be well.

Waste of money
This course was such a disappointment. After reading the reviews and seeing the 4/5 stars I had a certain expectation going into my round today.
The course was in awful condition. Tee boxes had weeds and crab grass growing on them. The greens were AWFUL. So many dirt patches and sand all over the greens making them extremely hard to play and judge the break angles. The fairways were torn up and look like they hadn’t been cut in a few days with patches of dirt and sand littered everywhere. Overall the course conditions were just really bad.
Along with a poorly maintained course, the pace of play was awful due mostly in part to the staff. The starter let’s people go onto the first tee box like it’s a free for all and doesn’t follow the tee times. When it started to get backed up around hole 10, the ranger then had the nerve to drive around and tell us to play faster while we stood there and waited for a group of 4 to clear the green to take our next shot.. I guess he wanted us to just hit at them. The whole back 9 we had to continually wait to tee off because older folks would bog down the pace of play and not let you play through.
Overall, for $50 per player it’s NOT WORTH IT. Go elsewhere. Pay a bit more for a nicer course and better staff. This play was trash and I would never go back or recommend to anyone.

Excellent municipal course in very good condition considering the lack of rain in SW Florida.
Stall, especially Mark the starter, deserves more than a 5 star rating.

Dry Golf Course
This spring season has been very dry (so far) and River Run has clearly been affected by mother nature. The fairways are rock hard in many areas including around the greens. Greens are very dry and putting conditions were far from ideal with inconsistent green speeds from hole to hole across the golf course. The pace of play under very warm conditions (near 90) was painful at 5 hours for our 4-some. Unfortunately, wait times on every tee area was not conducive to getting into any kind of rhythm. My advice to locals is to wait for he seasonal rains to improve course conditions and for transient seasonal players to skiddadle.😊
