About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Well maintained- but no driving range
Pretty forgiving layout. Healthy but slow greens.
Slow old people
Got 13 holes in before getting to a 4 group pile up on14. Pace of play, overbooking is a huge problem at this course. 90 degrees out and no one wants to sit and bake waiting on nursing home escapees who can barely move. Hate this place

Fun and challenging
Good course, well maintained and in good condition. Staff is very friendly. Like many courses don’t understand why carts don’t have GPS screens, but otherwise good value and would highly recommend

Almost enjoyable
This is a fun playable course. I would rate 5 stars had the greens been at a reasonable speed. Could not stroke putts. Needed to hit the ball. Way to slow to be enjoyable!!

Overall a nice track! Had a slow 2some holding up a 4some, no ranger to speed them up. Staff friendly and helpful. The greens were the worst I had ever putted. Slow as could be and over grown. I’ll probably look for a different place for next time. Cost of rental clubs were as much as it was to play, so that was a little crazy.

Great Value
Always a good value. Greens were a little beat up and a couple of tee boxes were rough, but I've never been disappointed.

Great for early morning 9 holes of quality golf
This is one of the few courses that allow for 9 holes. Course is solid and everyone is courteous. Only downside is there are no practice facilities other than a putting green and nets

Fun Course, Would Play There Again
Greens were in nice shape, even though they had been punched and sanded less than two weeks prior. All rolled true and there were very few bare spots. Sand traps were in very poor condition, bordering on unplayable. Fairway grass was sparse but a few days of summer Florida rains will take care of this situation. Tee boxes were in OK Condition. It did appear that there is still debris from Hurricane Ian piled up in some areas on the course (between fairways), and one of the cart paths (leading from the 8th green to the 9th tee) is still closed and overgrown from hurricane damage. Staff could not have been friendlier or accommodationg. For the price this is a good course and I look forward to playing it again..
