About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Slow
Late at starting. 30 mins back up. We were called in at 6-15 pm. Lots of slow players out earlier. Could do with a course Marshall to get people moving. We lost the last 3 holes.

First time in 2 years
Fair price but condition of course is terrible. No grass in most fairways and none in rough. Very poor condition. Much worse than previous times here in past.

Course conditions
First the tee boxes are nice. The greens don't look that good but they are on the fast side and roll pretty smooth. The fairways are very bad as are the fringes it's like playing on hard pan very thin on the grass defenately no over seeding to make them lush.

Over seeding
Course needed to be over seeded for winter play, would be very nice course with some grass in the fairways.

Extremely Slow/Good Course for Money
Course is EXTREMELY slow, if they’d control pace play, course value would be good.

The course sits right next to the Pittsburgh Pirates spring training camp. I’m sure they are stuck for land but there is no driving range which for me is a huge demerit. The course was interesting the greens were fairly smooth and the layout was fun. Good experience overall.

An OK course for a Muni and for the money.
