About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Letting it Slide
I have played River Run 4/5 times and have always been amazed at how nice the course is , and others feel the same. My last round I was disappointed in the conditions, T boxes were basically sand, fairways needed water desperately, somehow the greens were playable, just very fast.
I won’t let one round ruin my opinion, really enjoy the course usually , nice fair layout , with plenty of challenge. Some TLC and it’s good to go.

A little rough, but overall a great bargain!
I hadn’t played River Run for.a few years until yesterday, so I didn’t know quite what to expect from it. Generally speaking, I was genuinely impressed!
The Pro Shop appeared to be recently updated, and it had a clean look and feel to it. The staff members were very friendly and welcoming to both me and my guest who had just arrived from the U.K.
On course, most of the greens were in very good condition, although many of the tee boxes were kind of shabby. Some of the fairways we’re a little spotty, but rolling a few revolutions to an area with better grass helped that a lot. A good bit of the rough was just hard pan, but very playable.
Overall, I’d rate the course as a generous “4”, but for a Muni with the green fee I paid, it could be an “8”, considering what comparable courses in the area at this time of year are charging.

Nice course but dry!
Nice course but dry, this is to be expected as we have had no rain. Few holes got backed up but nothing to serious. Will play there again!

Good Challenge
A very well laid out course with some challenging tee shots along tree lined fairways with some interesting doglegs over water. Tees were a bit bare but would easily be resolved with tee rotation. Staff were helpful, cheery and welcoming

Excellent Conditions, Friendly Staff, Fun Track To Play
Played mid-week early afternoon round using GolfNow ‘Hot Deal’.. Bought round as a single & was put in group with a threesome. Have played this course before I was pleased to find it in better than expected condition with all greens rolling fast and true. George in the Pro Shop was especially accommodating. Pace of play not good but only because the guys I played with were very slow and we fell behind pace early in the round. (This is not unusual this time of year here in SW Florida. You learn to live with it.) I would recommend this course and look forward to playing there again soon.

Get ready to be mocked for showing up early. PSA: theres no driving range: they will also make fun of you for assuming this. Sad bc course is okay, but pace of play bad and staff worse. Avoid solely bc staff makes it not welcoming for price
