About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Vacation golf
Course was in good condition, teamed up with some very nice lads. No driving range is only complaint.

Get out early
Golf this year has been the worst I have ever seen in the 35 years I have lived here. Pace of play and the udder ignorance of golf etiquette are astounding . The worst is that the prices are still higher for less value
That said. I was able to get out first for nine holes early, not my style. I was able to play nine holes in 90 Minutes.
That’s fun. City course in decent condition, greens were good decent layout. Price was fair as well

Adequate
Course caters well to golfers of every level, but that also leads to a slower pace of play. Combination of carts and walkers(I recommend walking if you can) in addition to the extreme variations in skill level, don't expect to move quickly. Not unusual to have two or even three groups on the box of a Par 3 waiting(this time of year). I've played many rounds in the summer and early fall without any issue. Value overall is in the cost vs other courses in proximity. Course always plays fair, no matter your skill level.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Greens are great
Overall a nice course for the money. Greens are in very good shape and the fairways average.

So glad I switched my reservation to this course!
I switched to this course as a course I reserved got some poor ratings. The starter paired me up with some great guys from Michigan, and it was a fun day of golf. A few fairways were thin in places as well as a tee box or two but I will go back to this course. A fun layout, nice greens, and can’t overstate how important it is to have a good starter!

I try to play this course every year while I stay in the area. It's not because it's the best course, it's because the staff is so accommodating. The course is OK too. They try really hard to keep the course in good shape but it gets so much play from golfers that have no concept of care, the facility shows it. There are plenty of places to get in trouble unless your Tee shot is accurate. I think the fairways are cut too close. The growing season is all year and there is no reason for almost bare fairways. The greens are capable of holding a good shot but are too slow for advanced play. They need to be verticut and rolled. All in all, it's a fun golf course that I will continue to support.
