River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

It's nowhere near the nicest course in the area, but it’s always my favorite. The staff is always helpful in every way and that's what makes this place special. It's a municipal and they can't expand anywhere so they lack suitable practice areas and the bunkers could use some attention. Other than that, it's a great value.

this municipal course in Bradenton is a good deal for the cost. the course is fairly well maintained and the staff is very friendly. the big downside is the pace of play, it took 5hrs 35min to play 18 holes and my foursome was right on top of the group in front of us.
