About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

not a bad layout
Staff was very friendly, they are battling a drought and it shows. 4 hour 30 minute round, greens ran decent, traps are not great, conditions below average. If you just want to get out and play not a bad option.
Back to back
Play the score Saturday and Sunday. The Ranger/starter is the best. He keeps his eye on everything. Let you know if you’re a little slow and even finds some golf balls for you. I was very impressed with him. The rest of the crew is great and the course was in pretty good condition given all the play over the winter. I would definitely recommend this course.
River run
Nice course. Play it 2-3 times a year. Played with 3 nice guys on vacation from Fort Myer. Decent fairways, greens and tees. Dry conditions affected the roughs but that was expected. Very helpful staff
Great afternoon
This course is always incredibly consistent. Greens and fairways in great shape, pace is tolerable 4-4.5hr. Staff is friendly. Course is fun.
Character
The course has a variety of hole (water, dog legs, lay up, etc) I played from the blue tees. Only 6300 yards but require tee accurate shots so dontt let the distance fool you into thinking its no big deal. Some of the greens are small whi h adds to the difficulty. Have fun!!
Great Value
Great course, very friendly staff. Greens are well maintained, tee boxes in acceptable condition. Service is exceptional.
conditions
The course was terribly dried out but, in their defense, we are in a drought in this area. Pace of play was slow, and I did not see a ranger. The course is very reasonably priced for this area at this time of year which you would think is a good thing, but it gets heavy play which makes getting t times difficult and also results in slow play, I have seen significant landscaping improvements on the course in the last three years so the new management team is doing a great job there. I like the course. I like the price. I don't like the slow play, and the course needs significant irrigation upgrades.
River Run Golf
Seems like every course has raised their rates significantly. The increases are not justified because the conditions on most of the courses are bad. River Run is in pretty good shape and still a good value in the area. I'll golf here at least once a week while here.
