Arguably the best overall value in Northern VA
Always like to play here. Fairly forgiving course, good condition! Although pace of play was slow due to everyone getting on this long overdue very nice day!
Over book
The course over booked themselves and it took 6 hours to play a 18 hole round of golf, very disappointing!!!
Fun to Play
For early spring, the course was in good shape. It is a fun course to play with some challenging holes. Not overly long with a couple of exceptions. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Holes #16 & #17
Depending on the pin placement for holes #16 & #17, you'll either enjoy your day of golf at PWC or be completely disappointed.
Not Worth it
Pace was the slowest and there was no field marshal.
Pin locatons were the toughest and greens are in good condition. Course maintenance is the worst and bunkers had no drainage. Not coming back.
5 1/2 hour round way too long
IFairways and greens in great condition but the pace of play was dreadful. Really bad when there are 2 or3 foursomes waiting on par fours and fives. Granted it was a holiday but the tee times were scheduled way too close together. If the course is in it for the money I doubt that I will come back. 5 1/2 hour round is too long.
Nice course
This was our 3rd visit to this course and we were very pleased with the overall condition of the course. It was a beautiful day and we had a great round.
Needed a Marshal
Pace of play could have greatly improved with a marshal. Groups jumping around and slow 4-somes throughout.
Was a little disappointed I had to wait to tee off despite having a tee time. Started was holding me to join a group with folks running late and the. Let two folks to in front of me anyway.
Good service...
Nicely maintained except cart paths are in need of repair. Pace was slow 5 1/2 hours. May play again! Bunkers were in bad shape, water and not enough sand.
Staff were very friendly, even gave me a ride back to my car after retuning the cart.
The course have been greatly improved in the last year.
The course is much improved with the new management group. I would have never played this course so late in the summer a couple of years ago but now they are watering the fairways and the course was in great shape.
Great conditions, but slow
The course is in excellent shape, but our round took well over 5 hours. More time sitting around than golfing.
Beauitful Busy Saturday
The course was in very good shape. Greens very firm and true. The Cart girl had great beers selections. Pace of play was a bit slow. Could use help from the marshal could have moved things along.
Well Kept Course
Course was in very good condition. Some of the cart paths need to be repaired. Greens were in good condition. For a weekend round it was about 5 hours.
Nice Course
This was my first time playing and have heard that it is much nicer now that Billy Casper took over the course. My biggest complaint is the number of 2 and 3 somes on the course. There were several places where folks could have been paired up to make more foursomes. Greens and tee boxes were in very nice shape. I will play here again.
PWGC
Nicely maintained except cart paths are in need of repair. Pace was slow.
First time, but will be back
Fairways and greens are in excellent condition. Course has enough of a roll to it without being hilly. Greens have a lot of slope and are very fast. Fairways are wide and firm. No repetition of any hole being like another. Very well maintained.
Prince William
Fairways were in good condition, it had drained well following a hard rain the night before. Greens were medium but in good shape.
Good course
Great experience..................................
Good condition
Pace of play was slower but have played this course several times and was in better condition than previous visits. Would play again.

Thank you very much for coming out to Prince William Golf Course and for your online review. Prince William was built in 1967 before the use of underground drainage for green complexes. With the course receiving over 1 inch of rain the day before we often need to put pin locations on higher ground so that the cups themselves don’t fill with water. The amount of rain is also the reason behind some of our bunkers having standing water in them. I do apologize regarding the pace of play that day. Being cart path only that day due to the rain often causes a slower than normal pace. We are working on some new programing to ensure better pace of play in the future here at Prince William. We hope you see you back out at the course in the future as we are sure you will have an enjoyable time.
