Whispering Pines Golf Course

The course layout is flawless...the fairways where in great shape...the greens on the other hand was terrible, not all but must. From sand to dead spots and even dead sod that was treated correctly. This course has the potential to be a 10 course in area in my opinion, once those greens are taken care of. Clubhouse staff was great even though they shutdown the grill around 10am due to a staff member leaving early.

Had high hopes for this course. Staff was so rude. Gene was super miserable behind the counter. We ended up quitting after 11 holes because we would have been there for over 6 hours playing 18.

Greens were the WORST I’ve ever played. Stay away

Greens were in horrible condition. Absolutely worst greens i ever played. Decent course otherwise.

Overall nice course. They were working in some of the greens, but it is still a course for long hitters and has lots of shade from the sun.

The course was in decent shape,except for the greens,was like putting on the parking lot,other than that,it was decent.

Nice layout! Staff was so-so. Pace of play was really slow (hit a shot, wait 5 mins).. course was really ok UNTIL you reach the greens!! Simply UNPLAYABLE!! Putt would be online and then hit a “plinko” divot and push or pull your putt!! Hopefully they will address this because the course was actually really nice for the money!

Course layout is great and fairways, tees and rough were in decent shape. Greens were absolutely unplayable. I’ve played on greens that were punched one day prior and these were worse than that! No grass on several, three or four under construction. There are way too many places to play for in this area for similar cost.

Course was nice, green conditions were tough, maybe they'll be better later in the year. Looks like they're trying to repair them, they just run slow and a bit unpredictable. Overall we had a good time though

For a very hot day and a late afternoon, this is a great course. Lots of trees for shade and enough water to loose a couple balls. Challenging for a high or low handicap. The greens are very rough from being aerated in MAY (there are signs posted when you walk in), but complain to mother nature not the staff....it's not their fault and I promise the PGA will still let you play in the next upcoming tour regardless of your score on this course. The fairways are very nice and the staff is great despite having to deal with all us tourists coming in from EVERY WHERE! I was in the pro shop when checking in and the complaints from golfers about the greens was just plain rude (and reviews). For this great rate AND a cart, in a beautiful beach community how can you complain while on vacation or golfing??? Fantastic time!!!!

I play golf with my 5 &6 year olds all over the country with no issue. They let me pay (with kids in next to me) by food and drinks only for the starter to to tell me I can’t play with my kids.

Greens were in terrible shape. Holes haven't been moved ages and dead all the way around. Wouldn't recommend this course at all.

Greens were patchy but overall were not unplayable kinda like playing after aeration

Course was in great condition other than the greens which were dry and bumpy. Overall, it was a nice course and would definitely play again.

When people say the greens are in rough shape and sandy because of aeration, I can understand it. And am still okay to play. These greens are horrible, borderline unplayable. About 12 greens are very bad ... And there were at least 3 greens under flat out construction. The pro shop makes no mention of this whatsoever. Please please please please don't play this course in its current condition ... Unless you are simply looking for convenience, get some practice in, or get a great great online deal.

Save yourself the time and money because lord knows, not one staff member warned me about the greens being rotted out completely. There is not one green that is not at least 50% missing and dirt. Not sure how you can have a course in that condition and not inform anyone. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK AGAIN.
