Ocean View Municipal Golf Course

I have played OVGC for over 40 years. The course is currently in good condition but the greens putted a little slower than usual today. The 20-25 mph winds today coming off of the bay toughened up some of the tighter fairways. The staff is always friendly and there is a daily blitz that goes off around 1pm.

The fairways are a little narrow, but that is the only thing negative I could say about the course.. pace of play was good just waited a little bit of time around the par three’s.

The course need a lot of work. The fairways and “rough” is cut to one length, the greens are overgrown in my opinion. The layout is good, it’s a short course so it makes you think of how you need to play off the tee. The pace of play was great for the first five holes and then I caught up to the group in front of me and they wouldn’t let me pace. I made the turn went into the clubhouse got food and a drink came back out and they were just leaving the tee box. I play relatively fast but they were playing slower then the pace of play.

The course needs some work.

Weather was cool and sunny. Course was in great shape from Tees to Greens. Greens a bit slow but nothing to complain about. Employees very friendly and personable. Started out fast but slowed down around number 5 due to slow foresomes in front of us. No problem because there was several foresomes in front of them. Had fun and took in the beauty of the couse. Great course to enjoy and take you time playing.

I started playing golf four months ago and I shot a 98 yesterday I’m very proud of that and I love the layout of the course

It was extremely busy when I went. I had just me and one other person. The starter was supposed to put us white another group of two but they didn’t want to, so it screwed up the whole pace of play.

Beautiful course with the sand traps getting some work done. Hopefully you avoid them like somehow I was able to for the most part.

Do not expect to actually view the ocean at Ocean View golf course. Tee boxes were somewhat beat up but manageable. Greens were a bit slow, but rolled fairly true. Fairways were in good shape and most bunkers were taken care of. Would definitely recommend this course for those that are looking for a relaxed weekend round.

Greens were in very good shape. Played the day after huge rain storm and course was in good shape drainage wise. Most of traps were dirt not sand. Small but narrow course. You can play any shot as long as your not in water.

Played while on vacation nearby. One of the public courses near Virginia Beach.

Fun course. Flat mostly straight layout.

Greens were slow - I’m used to country club greens - but overall a fun place to play at a terrific price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had 3 teenage kids playing and they all were able get around the course and enjoy playing.

Cute little course. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was nothing overly challenging about the course, no hidden or blond shots. Water comes into play in about five holes. But the pace was unbelievable. Finished my round in 2:40. I’m sure this is not the norm but was great for me. I would play here again

I normally play OVGC once a month and I can truthfully say that it's my favorite course In the Hampton Roads area. Andy Giles has done a great job keeping the course up to date and I really appreciate the refurbished bunkers. The pace of play is normally very good and we recently finished our round in just over 4 hours. The staff is friendly and the golf carts are always clean and well maintained. It's a pleasure to play golf here. Thanks!
