Ocean View Municipal Golf Course

It was extremely busy when I went. I had just me and one other person. The starter was supposed to put us white another group of two but they didn’t want to, so it screwed up the whole pace of play.

Beautiful course with the sand traps getting some work done. Hopefully you avoid them like somehow I was able to for the most part.

Do not expect to actually view the ocean at Ocean View golf course. Tee boxes were somewhat beat up but manageable. Greens were a bit slow, but rolled fairly true. Fairways were in good shape and most bunkers were taken care of. Would definitely recommend this course for those that are looking for a relaxed weekend round.

Greens were in very good shape. Played the day after huge rain storm and course was in good shape drainage wise. Most of traps were dirt not sand. Small but narrow course. You can play any shot as long as your not in water.

Played while on vacation nearby. One of the public courses near Virginia Beach.

Fun course. Flat mostly straight layout.

Greens were slow - I’m used to country club greens - but overall a fun place to play at a terrific price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had 3 teenage kids playing and they all were able get around the course and enjoy playing.

Cute little course. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was nothing overly challenging about the course, no hidden or blond shots. Water comes into play in about five holes. But the pace was unbelievable. Finished my round in 2:40. I’m sure this is not the norm but was great for me. I would play here again

I normally play OVGC once a month and I can truthfully say that it's my favorite course In the Hampton Roads area. Andy Giles has done a great job keeping the course up to date and I really appreciate the refurbished bunkers. The pace of play is normally very good and we recently finished our round in just over 4 hours. The staff is friendly and the golf carts are always clean and well maintained. It's a pleasure to play golf here. Thanks!

Had a blast, Played 2 rounds back to back. Course was a lot of fun. The staff was great Andy & Matt in particular.

Course is in pretty good shape. Greens are fair speed and not a lot of bounce from chip shots which I feel to be great. I will be returning

Course is normally very dry due to sandy soils. Unfortunately this time around the greens had been cored and sanded, making putting a bit like the beach! I am exaggerating, but it was a bumpy and sandy day on the greens! The course is forgiving and fun to play and the staff were exceptional.

The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. We arrived late after getting delayed in the tunnel and the starter still found a way to get us on the course with almost no wait. There is no range here so it’s probably best to get here early and stretch and warm up.

The fairways are very good however, the greens are extremely slow. It’s a thicker cut of grass and it takes some time getting accustomed to it. The good thing is that the practice green is equal to the greens on the course so practicing ahead of time should help.

It’s not a long course as the tips (green tees) are only 5800 yards. You can use your driver but this course gives you a chance to work on other clubs. The par 3 distances vary from ~125 yards to ~ 185 from what I recall and the course offers a variety of holes.

I highly recommend playing this course. It’s not the most challenging but can jump up and bite you if you’re not careful.
