About
Unlike some Jack Nicklaus golf courses that have earned a reputation for being among the world's most difficult, mid- and high-handicappers stand a fighting chance at the Grand Bear Golf Course. Nicklaus offers wide fairways before the sprawling woods take over on either side, most bunkers aren't horribly steep, and greens generally have room in front to run a shot up. The winding Biloxi River helps build Grand Bear to a dramatic finish. The par-3 14th hole plays through a chute of woods to a green guarded by the river below that runs along diagonally, punishing hooked shots left short. After another par 3 on the 16th that plays with the river to the left, the 17th once again plays over the river on the drive, then parallel to the hole. The 18th hole plays long and uphill back toward the clubhouse.

Course conditions immaculate
This course layout of fantastic. Very secluded. Greens were perfect, no blemishes. Friendly staff. Only complaint was that it was cart path only due to days and days of continuous rain, and it is not walker friendly due to extensive distance from green to next hole.
Highly recommend this Jack Nicklaus design.
This was a great course and a great price thru golf now. The only complaint I have is it started to rain when we are the 9th hole and of course we had to come in. We waited the rain out and could have finished our round but they closed the course saying it was too wet. However we were the only ones left and I believed they closed it because they didn’t want to wait in just 2 golfers

Greens were flawless. Great layout. Area received tons of rain before we played Donot was cart path only…but even that could not take away from the experience of that course.

Sorry about the cart path only restriction - it just means you should come back and enjoy the full experience at Grand Bear, with unfettered golf car driving.
Great Course
Very good course. Staff was friendly and facilities are great. Course was in great condition and would recommend playing it. Our group enjoyed our time. I will play this course every time I’m in the Biloxi area.

Gorgeous
Just a beautiful course with well maintained fairways and perfect greens. Unfortunately, it had been raining for a month and the course was completely saturated. Even with that huge amount of rain, the course was lovely. Well worth the time to go play it.

A must play coarse
Beautiful coarse, Friendly Staff. It had been raining for about 5 days , 2 days later coarse was in excellent condition could not believe it.
We agree with you, Grand Bear is a must play for anyone in the Mississippi Gulf Coast area. The signature Jack Nicklaus design and how it winds through the De Soto National Forest is really one of a kind, and we're constantly working to deliver a 5 star experience. Glad we did just that for you, despite the record rainfall recently. All credit to the incredible maintenance team at Grand Bear, and all their hard work getting the golf course back to form. Fantastic day!
3rd time playing GB & it never disappoints. Wonderful layout & great conditioning. Wonderfully secluded with no outside distraction. Some wildlife. Top notch clubhouse makes you not want to leave. Only negative is the distance to drive from I-10, but no big deal. Well worth it. Haven't been to Fallen Oak or The Preserve, but, to me, GB is #1 on the coast, and maybe beyond.

Golf course was in 9 out 10 rating with fairways and greens in great condition. Staff was awesome. Very informative and accommodating. Course was not crowded and play was fast for us. Clubhouse was top notch and well maintained. Tract of golf course was well layed out and challenging. I would recommend to others for a great experience. I believe one of the better courses in the gulf coast area.

Fabulous course and great staff. Everyone was extremely hospitable and friendly. The course was challenging, but not painful for the less experienced golfer.
