Legacy Golf Club sits on 28 acres of Dwight B. Heard's turn-of-the-20th-century ranch, home to 1902 silos that decorate the 18th fairway - once the tallest manmade things in Maricopa County. More history is on the first tee, in the Sierra Vista House which counts among its early-1900s visitors Theodore Roosevelt and Pancho Villa.

Gary Panks designed the golf course at the Legacy Golf Club, giving it lush fairways, strategic hazards and manicured greens to test all golfers. Native flora grows from the landscape, and the club's elevation offers a vista of Camelback Mountain, Squaw Peak and the skyline of Phoenix.

Fun course, varied layout

Great overall course, staff were awesome, course was kept up very nicely, and pace of play was just fine. Crushed the range, but my front 9 was terrible. My back nine was great. Would definitely come back!

Nice course always in good shape. Pace of play is an issue at times, but not on this occasion. If you can get a deal it’s worth playing, at full price there are better choices.

My Favorite in Phoenix!

The Legacy is prob my favorite course in Phoenix, and especially for the money! The course layout is great, with beauty all around with the mountains along the horizons as backdrops on many of the holes. The landing areas are generous, the fairways were like carpets, and the greens were perfect! The Par 3s ranged from 110 to 190 from the black tees, so you got 4 different shots to play as opposed all just banging them 200+ like some courses from their deeper tees. the drink cart was always around, so you'll never have to go long until your next drink or snack! Absolute best bang for your buck, IMO. I've played several courses over $250, and this course was nicer and more pleasurable! Make it a point to play it at least once, and I don't think you'll be disappointed!

If you are going to be a resort level course you need to have more golf carts. I was a singleton player and was forced to play with someone I do not know for 18holes in a cart. She was very nice- but not my preference to play with someone I do not know at all. Also her golf bag was huge so I could barely get my bag on the cart. Otherwise I liked the course - though pace of play was a little slow at times.

Rain, rain

Rain cleared out everyone and finished 18 holes in under 2 hours. Course was great shape for how much rain it had taken on. Also played on value card so great deal (half price). Great day of golf.

No food at turn!!!!

Grill room closed for Easter Brunch with no warning and no options - had to settle for candy bars at the turn. Took away from an otherwise great experience.
