Brooksville Country Club offers a uniquely scenic experience with a rolling landscape covered with live oaks and remnants of the abandoned limestone mine still present throughout. The surroundings are unlike any other golf courses in central Florida, which has made it popular amongst both locals and visitors. Besides the beautiful scenery, the terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that make each hole unique. The traditional layout features contoured, rolling fairways and four memorable holes that play along and through a century-old quarry. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging as you head towards the back nine, which was designed by Bobby Weed. It is a layout that demands precision and rewards skillful shotmaking. In addition to the unique setting and challenging design, Brooksville Country Club also boasts immaculately conditioned fairways and greens.

Fun but disappointing round

My father and I were really hyped to play course based off the photos online. However, upon immediate arrival on the property, we could tell it wasn’t going to live up to it. Facilities are neglected, greens and bunkers need major work. Granted we had a few days of rain prior to our round, but having played in the PNW with plenty of rain, I know drainage is a main issue for Brooksville CC. Luckily we grouped up with another 2some on the back 9 which made the round enjoyable for my father and I. Sadly though, we don’t see ourselves coming back in the foreseeable future. There’s a lot of potential with the layout being what it is, but course and property condition need some major help.

Great back 9

The course was in good shape for Florida in the dry season. There were some bare spots but anyone who lives or plays golf here this time of year will see these. I thought the greens fairways and sand traps were being well taken care of

The back 9 remain some of the most fun and memorable holes the average player will play.

I love this course plan to make it my new go to cours

Decent Value, Fun Layout, Okay Conditions

Overall I’d say about 3.2/5. Pace of play 4 hrs 40 minutes. Tee boxes are 6.5/10. Fairways 7/10. Rough 5/10. Bunkers 7/10, some bad some good. Greens 6.5/10. Greens rolled true but were a little slow rolling 8-9. Many greens were patchy, but pin placement strategically avoider those areas for the most part. Layout was fun and quarry holes are very cool. Overall worth playing for $40-$45 vs the other courses charging similar prices.

Rough and rougher

The fairways were pretty rough and the rough was in rougher shape. Greens were somewhat bouncy, and I would rate them at 3/10. Quarry holes were fun to play.

Greens are good. Fairway grass pretty short, normal for this time of year, with many sandy areas. Those big trees have limbs hanging over the fairways. Frankly, I play there for the quarry holes. Nuf said.
