Brooksville Country Club offers a uniquely scenic experience with a rolling landscape covered with live oaks and remnants of the abandoned limestone mine still present throughout. The surroundings are unlike any other golf courses in central Florida, which has made it popular amongst both locals and visitors. Besides the beautiful scenery, the terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that make each hole unique. The traditional layout features contoured, rolling fairways and four memorable holes that play along and through a century-old quarry. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging as you head towards the back nine, which was designed by Bobby Weed. It is a layout that demands precision and rewards skillful shotmaking. In addition to the unique setting and challenging design, Brooksville Country Club also boasts immaculately conditioned fairways and greens.

Decent Value, Fun Layout, Okay Conditions

Overall I’d say about 3.2/5. Pace of play 4 hrs 40 minutes. Tee boxes are 6.5/10. Fairways 7/10. Rough 5/10. Bunkers 7/10, some bad some good. Greens 6.5/10. Greens rolled true but were a little slow rolling 8-9. Many greens were patchy, but pin placement strategically avoider those areas for the most part. Layout was fun and quarry holes are very cool. Overall worth playing for $40-$45 vs the other courses charging similar prices.

Rough and rougher

The fairways were pretty rough and the rough was in rougher shape. Greens were somewhat bouncy, and I would rate them at 3/10. Quarry holes were fun to play.

Greens are good. Fairway grass pretty short, normal for this time of year, with many sandy areas. Those big trees have limbs hanging over the fairways. Frankly, I play there for the quarry holes. Nuf said.

Disappointing

A great golf layout with poor condition. I played there back in October and was pleasantly surprised. However, the course has deteriorated since then. Too bad, the course has great potential.

Good value. Good course.

Challenging lay out for sure. Great course conditions. Only a couple of greens had a couple of bad patches. Tees, fairways and rough in good condition. Very nice practice amenities.

Scenic Golf

First time to visit Brooksville Country Club but it won't be my last. The front nine seems like a typical course and then you begin the back 9 with the quarry holes that will challenge your abilities and make you 2nd guess your shot selections. Don't be nervous and play to your strengths and you can do it, Hole 17 will make you "sweat" a little but in a good way. Remember it's supposed to be challenging or everyone would be playing. Will go back after retooling my irons some more but the suspense to tame the quarry is there, !

Greens need work

I thought the greens were patchy and fluffy and slow. I’ve played here many times and this was the worst I’ve seen the greens. No cart girl and no water on the front nine. Pace of play was slower than average and didn’t see a ranger. Played here many times and always enjoyed the experience. Maybe just a bad day for the course.

The course had just gone through a punched fairway and the greens had recently been sanded. The restaurant was closed.

Good course to play

Good course to play. Tough first few holes due to plugging fairways, but others weren't done yet.

Have played several times in past and would play again.

Great Course Otherwise

This is a great course. Back nine is beautiful. Please beware that they are aerating the front and sure to do the back soon. All of the greens are covered in sand so it is difficult to read putts and to get the ball to stop on iron shots. I usually don’t post a review but with it being a drive and a course that people look forward going too, I felt compelled. Look forward to going back in a couple months to play her again.
