Brooksville Country Club

Sand traps, there were many, had not been maintained. Many of the greens were spotty. I will play it again but I would not recommend it for someone looking for a good scoring round.

Always fun to make the trip up to Brooksville from St Pete. We do the hour and a half drive several times a season just for the fun of playing the quarry holes. The course plays very fair overall, but just the uniqueness of the four quarry holes takes you out of your normal comfort zone and makes you think a little, so it's sort of challenging in that respect. But the more you play the course, the more you think you can figure it out. Our neck of the woods is all flat courses, more or less, so the change is great! The course staff is always helpful and friendly and usually the weather cooperates, too. Great value for the journey.

Grand Daddy Oaks and quarry were fantastic! Fairways were good, tee boxes good and greens mostly good. A few patchy spots but this course was absolutely fun!

The day we played was overcast with a high chance of rain, but we went anyway and didn’t get any rain (other than a few drops) until we were driving away after the round. The course needed a bit of care, but I attributed that to the need for rain. The greens were in better shape than some of the other course in the area. The pace of pllay was very good. We only had to wait two times for the twosome ahead of us. Very enjoyable.

Clearly this was once a stately course, but is showing its age. I like this course, however, it does need some care. Bunkers were hardpan, as were places leading to the greens. Several greens have suffered infections.

The quarry holes were interesting and picturesque. I played with friends who are far more experienced and knowledgeable, and we discussed our experience and it was agreed that we could play nicer courses for the price, and that this round was overpriced.

I would advise a friend to visit at a different time of the year.

Since the last time I played, some of the greens have developed bare spots which made putting difficult. We moved our ball to get around this issue. This is the reason fo 4 stars. Fairways are in great shape.

If you are planning for the first time, bring a camera! Hole #17 is the most scenic.

Front nine is flat and open. Back nine Is hilly and tight

Played this course before. Like the layout especially the canyon holes. Grrens fast hard and wouldn't hold an approach shot.

Course was tough but not overly so. Made for attainable challenge. Lady in pro shop was awesome.
