Brooksville Country Club
About
Brooksville Country Club offers a uniquely scenic experience with a rolling landscape covered with live oaks and remnants of the abandoned limestone mine still present throughout. The surroundings are unlike any other golf courses in central Florida, which has made it popular amongst both locals and visitors. Besides the beautiful scenery, the terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that make each hole unique. The traditional layout features contoured, rolling fairways and four memorable holes that play along and through a century-old quarry. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging as you head towards the back nine, which was designed by Bobby Weed. It is a layout that demands precision and rewards skillful shotmaking. In addition to the unique setting and challenging design, Brooksville Country Club also boasts immaculately conditioned fairways and greens.

Course poor
Large area’s with no grass. Greens didn’t run true
Brooksville Country Club
Hidden gem. Good value for the money IMO. Lots of unique holes. I recommend and will play again.
Fun Course!
Played here yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Course is in excellent shape and the back 9 is really picturesque, especially holes 12, 13 and 14. Female pro at check in was exceptionally nice and friendly. Great bang for the buck! Will definitely go back again!
Good Value
First off, staff was extremely courteous. Couldn’t have been nicer. Course was packed! Took 10 min to check in because of line length.
Course was really rough. Not sure I had a decent lie all day. Only fairways have grass. Rough is a 50/50 mix of bare dirt or very thin dormant grass. Greens looked iffy but rolled great. Super fast. Was the saving grace or would not recommend. Tee boxes thin but grassed. All cart exit points around greens were completely bare dirt. Bunkers have more black powder than sand - odd material. Layout was nice - good mix of uphill and down with greens on smaller side throughout.
The Good & Bad
Front 9 was rather boring and the greens were far too undulated/small for their speed. The Back 9 definitely made up for it though. Tried to have post round food and drink only to find out the restaurant was closed. I’ll give this course another shot in the summer, but it was only OK at best.
Surprised in a good way.
The front nine was fairly pedestrian. But the back nine has some strikingly beautiful and memorable holes cut through an old quarry. If I could I play the back nine twice and take a pass on the front line
Tale of 2 courses
After hearing.good things about the course. I decided to take the hour & 10 min drive to check it out. Weather was great. Paired up with a nice couple (Herb & Barb). Had to wait on carts till about 10 min before tee time. This is becoming a common problem at most courses. Even though we're back to 2 riders/cart. Some still decide to pay the extra fee to single ride. That's ok with me, but courses should increase their fleets. It's hard to get prepared to play when you get your cart 10 min before tee off. Now the course. Front 9 I thought was just ok. Couldn't figure out why all the hype. But it was ok. Condition of course could have been better. But I just chalked it up to being Feb. It was very consistent to what I have been playing. Now the back 9 was a different story. Layout of this 9, spectacular! Lots of challenges. Changes in elevation. & condition of course much better. Made the trip, well worth the drive. Looking forward to playing it again this spring or summer.
Misleading
The course condition was poor, didn’t understand why paying customers had to wait for golf carts to get off the course before we were given one. The only factor that will bring me back is to play the courser is the layout and when the course is in better condition do to the seasonal change
Nice Course-Nice Day
Fun course to play a few holes are extremely challenging!
Drunken Sailor
Refers to person who picked the pin positions for this day. Pace of play was slower than normal. Probably because my foursome took 15 putts on one green. Sparse grass on a lot of fairways and tees as well.
Florida golfing at its best
Front 9 was very average. The back 9 was a nice surprise for a Florida course Many elevation changes and tee boxes that had some great views looking down the fairways. Greens were in good shape and on the fast side. Great value for your money. Pro shop had great hotdogs for sale. Only issue we had was that we had to wait for golf carts to come in before we were able to tee off at 12:00.
florida golf trip
this was a very fun corse front 9 lots of big trees back 9 not your typical Florida corse at all very elevated tee boxes and also elevated greens as it was a gravel pit at one time you will enjoy it a lot very scenic
