The course was wet and the sand traps had water, they were not raked.fairways were in poor condition ,hard to get a good lie.Greens in good shape.
Nice Course
Very nice course for the money. I play here a lot because it is always in pretty good condition and the price is right (most of the time). The holes are challenging but not overly so. About the only negative thing I can say is they need more sand in the bunkers. Fairway bunkers are ok when they are bare because you can get a good hit without any sand but greenside bunkers with no sand are a real pain.
It would be nice to play a course with some grass in the fairways.
Improving
Fairways have improved since last played 2 months ag. Greens in good shape and appear true Traps still need some work. Pace slow 4 hrs and 15 mins but was twosome behind foursome. Would play again
Nice course good value for money.
Very nice layout. Course is in fairly good condition.
How Dry I Am
We enjoyed this course, although the fairways were VERY dry and grass was sparse. This is great for your drives, which rolled endlessly, but tough on approach shots. The greens were also very dry and hard as a rock-not receptive to incoming shots. The greens were also VERY fast-which I enjoyed because they rolled very well and true.
There are some very pretty and interesting holes here and we will give it another try, perhaps after several days of rain. Overall we had a good experience and enjoyed our round. Very nice guy behind the counter in the clubhouse as well.
Hernando Oaks is in excellent shape and is definitely worth playing. The greens are the best I've ever seen them, they roll fast and are smooth. Its a fun course that offers some easy birdie holes early but also has some tough holes on the back nine. Overall the course is in very good shape and is a steal at their current rates.
This course provides a fun golf day
Hernando again provided a great day of golf with wide enough fairways for all level of golfers. The course appears to have been given additional care both on the tee boxes and greens. Speaking of greens, equal to any in this caliber of course. I found them a challenge, but rewarding. Come play this layout, enjoy using all the clubs in your bag. Help inside the club house was friendly, enjoyable to chat with and seem pleased you're there.
Course has improved
Since our last round 7 months ago the course has definitely improved with tee boxes actually having grass and bunkers in better shape. Greens are nice with the exception of a couple of them. Pace of play could of been better however it is the season of "snowbirds ". Like the layout of the course. Will play here again sooner than later!
Nice course
Tees and greens were excellent. Pro friendly. No frills but fun round. Several twosomes that if paired would improve glow of play
Nice Course, Challenging Greens
The course is in good shape despite some recent dry cold weather. The greens are not overly fast but very challenging to putt if you are on the wrong level.
Beautiful greens
First time here. Quite cool, never reached 60 degrees. A really nice layout, and the greens were very large and in beautiful shape. Sand traps are treacherous, with most being 5 to 6 feet deep. Really scenic course. Enjoyed the day, and will definitely be back.
Hernando Oaks Friday December 22nd
Really enjoy this GC and find the staff most courteous. My only critique stems from having to consistently deal with "single" golfers that "push", "hit-into", and "distract" the threesome and foursomes I played with. Better course management by pro shop and ranger to pair up singles. Also, let's get the locals with house carts to be courteous to paying guests and stop hitting into them and jumping in front of.
Staff is great, Some golfers very rude
We played behind 6 groups playing a best ball tournament. Very slow play, but wife and I were enjoying the day even though my game was very much missing. On hole 10, I asked the twosome behind if they wanted to join up as it was so slow. They did and we enjoyed their company. Starting on hole 12, two men behind, started hitting before we would clear so the ball was landing within 50" of us until we complained to them on hole 15. They told us to go faster..? Excuse me? We couldn't go as we were waiting every hole to tee off. It was turning ugly with shouting going on between us and them. Our golf cart started dying on hole 14, so I called the pro shop and they came right out. exchanged carts and we complained about the group behind us. They agreed with us we couldn't go anywhere and evidently they got the twosome behind us to hold up a few, as they didn't hit into us anymore. Kudos to the staff! Even the manager came out and checked on us at hole 17, and apologized for the group behind us, evidently they have a "reputation" there. The greens were not in great shape but overall, the course was in good condition, even if my game was not...
Beautiful course
Hernandez Oaks is one of my favorite courses in the area. Very scenic with good layout. Greens are usually the nicest around.
