Good course
We played this course last year and was quite impressed. This year we were even more impressed. It is good to see that they have started to get things moving . The course has improved and the big building what was going to be the club house has been removed and we were told they are starting the development March .
Awesome Greens, great layout
Easy access from the Veterans. Greens where the best part, large fairly quick and with undulations forcing a good read. Busy but the pace of play was good, 4.5 hour round with a 2 pm tee time. I will definitely be back, great value course.
Slow Play
There was no starter. People were just going to the 1st. tee and teeing off without regard to there tee time. Hence slow play
My local favorite
well maintained and challenging course .Greens are not easy but fair .
excellent greens
My first time golfing this course. Staff was friendly and helpful. Course layout is easy to follow, marked well but challenging. The greens are large and well maintained and watered. Fairways have grass but Florida dry winter shows. Sand traps were excellent. I will play again.
I've been playing Hernando Oaks for years. This course ranges in conditions throughout the year, but it's in good shape at the moment (it was in excellent shape a few weeks ago). The layout of the course is spread out, rarely making you feel like you're sharing the same fairway with other golfers on a separate hole. I'd certainly recommend this course to anyone looking to have a moderately challenging round.
Great Value
Greens are in good shape, but maybe on the slow-side. Fairways are tight! Definitely need seeding and watering. But you can't beat the current value.
Take advantage of their deals and embrace the challenging conditions.
Great Back Nine
Excellent value for money, inparticular the back nine holes, natural habitat and open country feel.
Great time! Great course!
Green's great!!!fairways allite hard,tielies!!!!but over all great!!love that tract!!
Great day
I received great value than the cost. Staff was and always is, very accommodating. Fairways were a little dry but not distracting. Overall, it was a great day on a fun and challenging course.
Just needs some rain!
All good here.Fairways just need a few showers as getting real dry but good considering the dry spell.
Senior likes the course
THis is a challenging course for an eighty=year old golfer. LOved it. The only change I would suggest is that the senior tees be moved up on several holes 2,3,9,10, and 17.
Never Golf the again
I work at another golf course and have a good idea what a golf course should look like. THIS COURSE IS EMBARRASSING! The fairways are all dead and very dry, its impossible to hit off the fairways. I looked the sprinkler heads and they haven't been turned on in a long time. And when is 5 sums OK? I saw at least 3, and one of them had 4 carts. I golf 5-6 times a week and this is the worst course I have seen in 3 years in Florida
Changes
We have played here several times in the last couple of years and like the course. There are some changes going on, the Old clubhouse is being demolished, they are planting some vegetation and grooming.
Looks like they could use some watering but the greens were fast and very undulating. Hopefully on the way up.
Sand traps
The sand traps need a lot of work they didn't have any sand in them. The tee boxes were hard as a rock very hard to put a tee in the ground some of the greens had weeds growing on them
Worth the drive
Coming from Tampa, where there is probably as many courses as 7/11's and wide range of green fees, I always second guessed driving up to Brooksville. But the idea of the rolling hills always tempted me and this time it got me. The friendliness of the staff is always a great starting point. Got to talk extensively to Charlie the GM and Tom Damico who checked me in and took the time to give me great directions about the track. They are genuinely caring people and are working hard to make a good thing better. The course is beautiful, the greens are somewhere around 9 and fairly consistent. And with those rolling fairways, place well a good drive on those downhills and you will be rewarded. Closing the 18th hole with a magnificent view right at Pre-Dusk was the best reward to a good round, better yet with my longest drive ever. Most of the greens had their undulation that came into play depending where you landed. The only big improvements that it really needs, and Charlie confirmed them being done within the next two weeks, are the teeboxes and the sand traps . If they can keep up the good work and get that abandoned club house back up, I'm sure we will all have a tough time getting a tee time here in the future. While that happens, I'm coming back every oportunity I get. I still have to try the food which was highly recommended. They did close the grill kinda early for a Saturday. I'm sure that will change once they get their volume back up.
Surprise d
After reading several recent reviews I was concerned about the condition of the greens however, all18 greens were in good to very good shape and more than playable
Some of the tee boxes need some repair but the fairways are all playable
the only issue was the sand traps they were deplorable not raked, weeds growing inside , unplayable but the pro shop said it would be fixed within two weeks all in all still a very good course
Nice Course
Generally this is a very nice course to play, I have played here many times. This weekend was right after Hurricane Matthew so it was pretty wet and some of the fairways had not been mowed. The bunkers were almost all mud with very little sand. While the course was not in the best of shape because of the recent weather, the rate was great and I know the course will be back in shape in no time.
