Hernando Oaks Golf & Country Club

Check in was quick and efficient. Starter promptly started us as a twosome. Another twosome caught up and joined us so we didn't wait on the groups ahead as much. The strong wind made play interesting but we finished in slightly over four hours. Fairways had grass in various conditions but thin around many greens bringing the five iron or Texas wedge into play. The greens were fast and a little tricky in the wind. The bunkers are hard and need work. Off of the fairway, don't go there.

Have not played this course for over a year. Last time I play left after 9 holes because of slow play, things have not changed much. I had a tee time for 11:00, was going to be behind a shotgun that would be done after hole 8. After the last group of the shotgun went thru I thought it was our turn to tee off. NO a group of 8 women (members) but in front of us. Ended up teeing off a 11:50. The second group of women who we were behind were extremely slow, at least two or more holes open ahead of them, and never offer to let us play thru. Waited on every shot. Round took over 5 hours. Never again will I play this course...

Nice layout. Greens were perfect. Overall course was very good and a good value. Would have given 5 stars if the pace of play wasn’t over 5 hours.

Showed up at 1015 for our 11 am time. Found a shot gun was out on the course so they said they will push us 15 min. Not a problem. We got pushed back 40 min and then 2 foursums came up (Members as we found out from the starter) and they just bullied there way in saying they had an 1130 am time. Starter just let them threw. Ridiculous. And of course they were the slowest players. Round was close to 5 hours as we waited on every shot. No Marshall to push them along. We were a 3 sum but they had no intentions of letting us threw. No etiquette. Never doing that again. Sad because it's a very nice course for the dollar. The pro shop and starter just need to be stronger and not let the Members get there own way.

I played this course back in November. They really have done a great job working on the tee boxes and fairways. The need to really encourage players to call in food orders on the turn as we had a 40 minute traffic jam and their clubhouse. Brand new carts as their last ones had duck tape all over the seats?

Played last fall and was not very good course conditions with even the carts with foam sticking out of seats junkie. Now new carts, greens very good fairways very good tee boxes ok….We will be back sooner now, Players from Brooksville, Tampa, Tarpon Springs

Was wet as heavy storms occurred the previous day. Was surprised that it wasn’t cart path only as carts were doing damage to the course. Also ball washers are in poor shape and looks like they have been neglected for a while. Greens were in decent shape and nice layout.

This course is super muddy. It drains poorly. I noticed they raised green fees significantly so I thought they must have made course improvements. They have not. I will continue to avoid this course because pretty much playing in the fairways is playing in mud. Experience was miserable. Choose a different course

I have played Hernando Oaks for many years and earlier this year my feelings were the conditions were not where they should have been. This recent visit showed that some maintenance dollars are being spent. The tee boxes were overseeded and some of the bunkers appeared to received some additional sand. The greenside bunkers should have additional sand added to provide a greater chance of putting the ball on the putting surface. More bunker rakes would be helpful as well. The new carts are a substantial upgrade from the past generation.
