About
The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. This classic blend of southern charm and golfing tradition will create wonderful memories for your golf trip to Brooksville

Silverthorn
Have not played at this course for awhile. I created a list of about 50 local courses that are not too far nor expensive.
This course is by far one of the worse. Fairway baren and numerous dirt mounds. did not even bother to rack the traps since they don't seem to be maintained. Tee boxes need attention. Only plus is that most of the greens looked in good shape.

Fairways are in really rough shape, you may have a better lie if you hit it in the sand trap.

This has to be the worst golf course in the state of florida No grass in the fairways and the people working the clubhouse had terrible attitudes. They should be ashamed to steal money by calling this dump a golf course.

Crowded
Too many people stacked up from first tee on. Not the first time. Fairways on back nine are atrocious

Terrible pace
It took me 3 and 1/2 hours to play 10 holes. For me that is totally unacceptable. Had I continued to play it would have taken 5 and 1/2 to 6 hours. I cannot recommend that anyone play there at this time of year.

Great layout

Nice layout requires all the clubs in your bag.
Course was in good condition. Needs a little grass in the fairways. Greens were in great shape. Rolled true and weren't real difficult to read.

Great Course
Super fun course with lots of interesting hazards and course elements. Fairway could improve, but otherwise it’s decently maintained. For the money, it’s hard to beat.
