Meadowlark Golf Course
About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Good value, decent condition, not challenging
For $21-25 in the afternoons this course is great for tune-up rounds or a casual round with friends.
The good? It’s full-length with plenty of par 5s. The condition is decent. Not great not bad. Right in the middle. The greens are a bit slow here, but they are soft and well-kept, so short-game balls will check if you can impart any spin to your ball, or tend to approach with your loftier wedges Dan, the worker in the pro shop / checkin was very nice and struck up a conversation while we were waiting.
The driving range isn’t anything special, it’s fine, however there are 3 generously sized greens. All seemed to be okay for putting AND chipping with enough surrounding fringe and open grass to work from a variety of distances while practicing.
The bad? Pace of play CAN be slow here. But on the right day this isn’t the norm. While playing, we saw a few locals crossing the course (right through where we were shooting) on their way home for the day. Along the back of the course away from the club house, there is some graffiti. Not a deal breaker, but otherwise the setting was well-kept.
Lastly, this course is best for those looking for a course over 6,000 yds, but doesn’t offer that much of a challenge. It’s mainly flat, and there are 2-3 holes near the end of the day that are nicely designed. There is no danger in this course, just hit away, making this a good choice for those who are looking to work on their long game without being punished by hazards all day.
Good day
1. Didn’t appreciate the bump in tee time without explanation or compensation. Moved from 9:07 to 9:37
2. Course had no knowledge except it showing in their system as my group being bumped.
3. I will be avoiding GolfNow bookings for the near future for the high fees and poor customer service
Short but challenging course
Me and my two of my neighbors had a good day of golf at Meadowlark, finding the course short but challenging and in pretty good shape other than a few unexpected wet areas. We played with a member and he gave us pretty good leadership on each hole, which made the day much more pleasant. We found the staff friendly and competent; and the practice areas in good shape and all said that we would play there again. .
Not bad
Played a little slow lots of inexperienced players
The yardage of the course is long enough for us.
I like to play at this course because it is closed to home.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Course is in excellent shape.
Greens are in good shape, puts were true. Several greens are difficult because of their design. Small but a lot false sides, fronts and backs. Hit to the middle of most greens is a must.
Stress free Memorial Day round
Pace of play can be a bit slow here but not this time. Pace was perfect and we finished in 3-3/4 hours. Course was in pretty good condition with some standing water on and around the course from the previous nights rain storm. However the fairways were nice and the greens were running pretty fast. Weather was sunny but cool early and warmed up later on but cooled down at the end of the round when the on shore winds picked up.
Great time!
Our foursome were all singles and we had a ball...Good pace of play
This course has great features
We like this course because it is closed to home. Staffs is very friendly and helpful. To us this course is very challenging.
