Meadowlark Golf Course
About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Cold wet Christmas Eve round
It was a very cold and wet morning after the heavy rain on the 23rd. The course was cart path only with most fairways flooded or heavily soggy which made the conditions anything but desirable. Those conditions and being paired up with the worlds slowest walker made this almost a 5 hour round (that would have been closer to 3-1/2). With all of that said the greens were almost perfect and ran very fast like a dry summer day. The real highlight were those amazing breakfast burritos we got. Really hit the spot on that cold morning. Overall it was a good round but could have been better.
Best Muni In Orange County For The Price
Meadowlark is a course that exceeds your expectations when you think of a muni course. The greens are always in excellent condition. There is a defined border from the fairway and rough. Due to the course being in Southern California (drought), the rough is kept very low. The course is walk able, but do expect some holes where you will have to hike an incline. What brings this course to the top is the price. Within close proximity to the ocean, even on a hot day, the weather is still comfortable to play in. After a rain storm, the course drains pretty well. If there is any accumulation of water, it is in locations that shouldn't affect play. Bunkers are the exception. The only downfall is the Pace of Play. There are time where I would be able to finish the course in four hours. There are time when it is quite longer. There is good news though, the marshals are on top of informing and speeding up the slower players. When you sign for their e-mail list, they offer specials that cannot be beat in Orange County.
HB special
She can get slow she can get soggy. Fix your divots people. Greens were furry from grown out punch but still fun.
Punched greens
Usually don’t have a beef with this app but what are the biggest shoes I come across a couple times a year is when they punch the greens so there’s no notification when you purchase your teatime so I take a client to the course and when we get there we find out there punching the greens I think there needs to be some sort of clarification a symbol or something on the teatime to notify us that there is something going on with the course?

Solid Course
I've been going to Meadowlark for a bit over 2 years now, and it never disappoints. The greens and fairways are good enough for the price, and the layout of the course is great. The people are very friendly, and you can get a really cheap twilight round on the weekends. It's never overly crowded.
One complaint I have is that the course can get backed up on hole 7. For whatever reason, this intimidating par 3 seems to slow the pace of play down a bit. Piece of advice: on hole7, always club up. The wind swirls on that hole like Amen Corner at Augusta. It plays like 180 or so, which is usually a 6/7 iron for me. But this weekend, I took a 5 iron, hit it flush, and it still went in the water.
first and last probably lol
May be the last time i beat my son...he did well today....84 but somehow i pulled off an 83 but that don't matter. If he does win some day I believe I win too. so much fun getting out with your boy on days like this....priceless.
Fun but slow on a Sunday Morning
Overall good for a Sunday morning just a bit slow timing wise. Overall though friendly and challenging course. I will be back. The club house was rocking on a Sunday afternoon!
Slow
Nice course and layout. Course is short and wide open. Played on a Sunday and pace was slow. I wish the marshals would’ve punched the slow groups along. 60 bucks a bit steep for the value but I’d play again during the week when it may be cheaper and pace may be a bit faster.
Decent experience
Robin Hood
The staff very friendly. The fairways were in excellent shape- could hit wedge shots and get some divot. The course of play was much better than times past. Great deal for the money especially with its close to the ocean location
Good Day
Had a good on the course. Great foursome to play with. Golf course needs some serious work though. Cart paths are full of broken cement. Very ruff ride. Carts could be upgraded with gps. When you book with golf now you are supposed to get your own cart. I had to share a cart, so it seems they got paid twice. Also a lot of Mud Pits
Pleasant Morning Round
Pro shop staff was friendly as always.
Teed off on time and the round had no hang ups what so ever. Course conditions were good and the greens were running pretty fast. Fairways seemed to have been over watered though. There were wet muddy patches and standing water on multiple fairways.
Good Time
The course is a little funky. A couple 4 pars where the safe tee shot is <150 yards leaving a short iron or wedge over the lake. But all in all a fair course in decent condition. A couple of muddy spots, but otherwise no reason to improve one's lie. We don't play this course often and local knowledge is worth several strokes.
