Meadowlark Golf Course
About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Great Course - Non existent / poor management
Every time I play this course, I vow it will be my last time. You have to have a minimum of 5 hours for 18 holes, be happy with a total disregard of any kind of etiquette, and be happpy with a five ball, followed by a two ball in front of you. Bunkers arn’t raked, pitchmarks are never repaired and there is never, ever a Marshall to be seen. It is all about squeezing as many people into the course as possible - end of story. Their only saving grace is the amazing chef at half way - great food, wonderful guy! All power to you. You should consider making him the GM - then you will see a well managed Golf Course. So sad ....
Good value during off hours
I view the course as a place to practice , and try new shots. Most of the holes are short, fairways are decent, greens are in good shape , flat, and slow. If you are a single digit handicap, this is not the place. If you are a 10-20 , and want to work on your game, it's great value
Nice Course
The course is in very nice shape and a great value for the money. Play is a little slow for a mid Sunday round.
Not to friendly
The starter was not very friendly......kinda made the mood of the round no fun....
As expected for a Saturday morning
Played Saturday morning at 830am. The weather was perfect, so the course was busy, as you would expect. The round took 5 1/2 hours, which is about average for Meadowlark on a Saturday morning. When I play there on a Sunday morning the round usually takes about 45 minutes, less. The course was in good shape and we enjoyed ourselves. It was a great idea to have the grill set up just before the Par 3 seventh, which is where you generally get the longest back-up. We were able to get our burgers without having to go inside the coffee shop, so that definitely speeds things up a bit. All in all, a good day and a good course for a reasonable price.
Quaint
#1 hole is reachable. So, they have a tree right in front of the green. #2 is reachable. So, they have a man made creek filled with god knows what (I think I saw my ball literally dissolve). Yes, the course is quirky to say the least. The course is relatively flat and short. But, I actually enjoyed the course. This is an everyday course sitting right in the hood with cool ocean breeze flowing across the day. Yes, that actually was fun.
Over booked course
Course is overbooked. On top of that they do not have any course Rangers making sure that speed of play is enforced. We are looking at the play the back nine first. I understand it's a public course, but if they want to make this course is rated better they need to make sure that the rules are being forced regards to speed of. play.
Fun Course
This course may not be long, however with the water, wind and doglegs, this course is challenging. You will use every club in the bag. Some holes require extremely well thought out shot selections and yardage.
First time playing the course. Fairways looked great and greens were in good shape. The elevation change off several tees and some approach shots made for some challenging and enjoyable playing. all but 2 or 3 greens were running fast. A few greens have some slope to them so stick it close. All in all I would definitely play it again.
