Meadowlark Golf Course
About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Too slow
The pace of play was unacceptable. It took almos six hours to play 18 holes.
Nice layout
Enjoy playing this course a lot of variations in the holes, greens are rounded and hard to stay on with longer irons. I play there at least once a week it is very convenient to Huntington Beach.
Great staff
Course offers several challenges with water; however, overall was a fun course.
Staff was excellent and very helpful with putting me with a great party of three others.
First time
Friday 10 am Tee off.
Was fairly Easy. considering I have a 18 handicap. I came off the front nine with a 39. Lots of pars, and I was playing the Back tees, and my drive is only 220 yards after the roll. I consider it was the condition of the fairways. When the fairways have nice grass from one end to the other, I can actually hit the ball with some accuracy. Ended the round with an 84. Aahh almost forgot, the greens are very small targets coming in.. Good luck !!
fun course
fun course most holes not to hard but some you have to be smart lay up at lest i do ? they punched the greens so they were slow but should be really good in a week or two really good price great value.
Forgiving fun course
Very open course with some fun holes. Course goes from flat to up and down hills, great deals ob golfnow, i paid$12 for 18 holes
Lucky Day
I had an itch to play and it rained which cleared the course out. I arrived at 1:40 and finished by 5:30. That NEVER happens at Meadowlark, especially on a Saturday. The course doesn't drain real well, and I was surprised to see a lot of standing water, which helped to explain how quiet the course was. I was very lucky to get out on one of my favorite little home town courses on a Saturday and a very reasonable rate.
very late start
I reserved time with cart at 12:30pm have to wait till 1:30pm they didn't have enough cart for your reservation .
Firts Time Playing With my son
My son and I we have A great time together, Playing at Meadowlark Golf Course, we started at 5:00 pm, we play 14 holes before it got dark. Over all the Golf course it was Great.
Why is this course so wet?!?!?!
We are in the middle of a drought here in California but this course looks like it's been getting 5" of rain for a week. Some areas where so soaked I had to walk around it so I did not sink. Bunkers were mostly wet sand. One I saw had 4/5" of standing water at the bottom. Super slow play is always the case here due to a few short par 4's and a couple tough par 3's.
Greens were in pretty good shape.
Good Day of Golf
Every once in a while I'll find a great deal here and today I found a round with a cart for $18. Couldn't pass it up. The pace of play for the day was faster than normal and the weather was amazing with a little wind making the course a little tougher. There are some muddy sections here and there, but the course is in pretty good conditions. Overall it was a good day of golf, especially for $18.
Near by locals
Great a round of golf for price !!
Will come back to play some more and refer some one
Slowest round of my life
Not a bad course, really short and only two par fives though. The worst part was it took over 6 hours to play so if that's your idea of a fun Saturday it's perfect, but if you want to play without waiting this is not your course.
Short but fun course
Enjoyable course with changes in elevation and small and contoured greens.
Not long, but definitely not easy.
Meadowlark is fun little test of golf. The course is only about 5500 yds. but the greens are challenging & usually in good shape. it would be nice if people fixed ball marks, but that's an issue everywhere!
It gets slow sometimes and there are no marshalls to keep up the pace but overall I enjoy a round here. If you get in some of the thick stuff around the small crowned greens, you might be looking at a double, so practice your chipping before playing here.
Staff is always friendly and the beer is always cold.
Fun round.
Very friendly staff, got us early by 45 Min. A very good day of golf for a good price. Jim
Worst Golf Experience ever
Tee Time Scheduled through Golf Now: 12:26pm
Actual Tee Time: 1:30pm
It took 4 hours to play the front 9. On the 10th we had a threesome with a young kid cut in front of us. We complained to them, nothing happened. We called the front desk. They said they would take care of it, nothing happened.
Started at 1:30pm, left a little before 7pm.
This place is an absolute circus and you can tell there is no management in place, or that knows how to run a business. This was the last time I will play at this joke of an establishment.
Fun day of golfing...
We had a fivesome on a sunday. The course conditions were nice. The fairways we're excellent. The tee boxes were good and the greens rolled true. It was a little cooler since it's near the beach. Good place to play...
Slow, slow, slow
Only play during the weekday. The course is too slow on the weekend given the tough par 3's and short par 4's where people wait to hit.
Meadowlark
I've played Meadowlark many times over the years, so the course layout and difficulty did not surprise me. What did surprise me was the extremely wet conditions. Mind you, it was summer, warm and dry elsewhere.
There were quite a few muddy spots on the course that hampered play. The tenth hole was cart path only, something I had never experienced before on this course.
The other thing that bothered me, and my playing partner, was a lack of yardage markers. There is no GPS on the carts so we had to depend on the course markers. Many simply no longer existed. Many others were damaged.
There were seemingly new flags at each hole, but they were checkered using black and blue, yellow, and I think, red. Problem was, from a distance, it was difficult to see the flag, especially the flags in shadows.
I do not think I will play Meadowlark for some time since there are other courses with better conditions, that cost less. It is a shame because Meadowlark is located in Huntington Beach, which is cooler on hot days, like right now.
