About
Editor's Note: Course closed and redesigned as Cabot Citrus Farms.
The Pine Barrens at World Woods Golf Club is one of two championship golf courses at the club. Named after the numerous pine trees that cover the course especially along the fairways, it feels far removed from the Florida coasts. Tom Fazio designed the course and it is considered not only some of his best work, but one of the best courses in the state. It is a tight golf course that is notorious for its vast waste areas and bunkers. Although it has a modest length of 7,259 yards, there is plenty of length within the layout with many of the par 4s stretching past 400 yards. There are two small lakes that come into play. The fourth hole is one of the most well known, and most photographed, in the state. It is a par 5 with a treacherous waste area dominating the right side all the way to the green.

World Woods is #1 in the region !! Photo submitted by webbknight on 09/21/2012
Amazing layout and great course with lot of potential
This course layout is magnificent, landscape is formidable and we enjoyed playing this course much better conditions vs the other course adjacent. Greens are slow but in good shape. In deed if they were able to put a good program of general re shaping on areas adjacent to the course this will a true gem.
Needs attention
This could be a really nice course but the overall condition of the course is run down the greens need to have new grass they were playable but not at all what you would expect For $120,00 . They are really pushing it to ask that much for there fee. Top money more like $75.00 and that's still might be on the high side even for this time of year. !!!
Fun day
Visually interesting. Good greens. I had the same club for 2nd shots a number of times.
Great course - worth the drive
No complaints at all. This is a fantastic Fazio layout. A challenging course with good risk reward options. Course condition was perfect. While Pine Barrens is a better track, I also played the Rolling Oaks course which is also good. I recommend playing both on the same day, as the course offers 50% off on the second round if you book it directly. They could not offer me this discount since I booked one round through Golf Now.
MDC
Nice tract. 10 yrs since I’ve been here.
Great conditions
Nice upkeep
Great value
Great Inauguration Day Round
Looked up in the sky as we pulled into the parking lot at Noon and even the jets were heading towards the left as Biden got inaugurated. Fun layout in very good condition. No bad holes on the entire course but some very challenging ones.
Just a great course
Thoroughly enjoy playing this course. I has challenges and rewarding holes but they are fair.
Beautiful course
This is a very beautiful course! no houses or highway noise just trees, very quiet. Staff is very helpful and professional, I will definitional return soon to play this well maintained course.
nice
greens were slow not very good direction from hole to hole
Playing Golf
I played alot of golf courses in Florida the last few months, I'll be honest I can"t remember much about any of the them, but I can tell you they were all good,
Beautiful Course
Nice course, very challenging. Friendly staff , course over booked, pace of play was horrible.
Disappointed
Course is run down. Practice facilities closed, practice holes closed, entry guard building unoccupied. I think this place was probably nice at some point in time maybe 20 years ago, but not now. Cart paths are terribly rough. I played this course because I saw it ranked on a list or two as a top 100 course in America, but it is definitely not. There are 500 other courses just as a good or better. I have played other courses that rank high on course rankings list like Tobacco Road, Pinehurst, Sawgrass, TpC San Antonio, Farm Links and Pine Barrens doesn’t belong on a list with any of those courses. I don’t think it will be ranked much longer.
