At Red Rock Country Club, Arnold Palmer has created an escape from desert golf with a lush green course that forces golfers to think over their shots. As you're thinking, a waterfall could be crashing in the background. There are actually two Palmer courses here, but only The Arroyo is open for public play.

It measures in at 6,883 yards from the back tees and uses dramatic bunkering to set off its holes. The par 4s are particularly inventive, especially the 432-yard 4th. The par-3 seventh gives you great views of The Strip in the distance. The greens consistently run 10-11 on the Stimpmeter and the fairways are designed to funnel shots that are not overly wild back into decent lies.

"The Arroyo Course is what it is -- a playable course with stunning scenery and a smattering of decent golf holes," former TravelGolf.com writer Shane Sharp said. "It won't provide as memorable a round as Sin City's big-name resort courses, but the price is relative. If you're looking for a course to include in your annual Vegas rotation, Arroyo would be a nice addition, considering its conditioning and scenery."

Disappointing.

I booked two tee times for me and my granddaughter. My wife joined us as a spectator to watch our granddaughter play. The staff member at the bag drop told us that spectators were not allowed. I spoke to the golf shop staff member, and he would only allow my wife on the course if I paid for the full green fees, which I thought was ridiculous, but I was in no position to argue.

The golf course was in decent shape given the summer heat.

Pace of play was abysmal

They already have an issue with pace of play because they have you start on hole 7 which is a par 3…but it took our foursome 2 hours to play 6 holes. When I brought this up in the pro shop for a rain check they refused me saying they didn’t care about how the pace was as long as we finished under four and a half hours. He even made me look at the screen. Pretty obvious that they are putting out too many groups to make more money

Las Vegas golf

This course was in great shape. Little warm that day so not a lot of people on course. Very challenging from the blue tees.. Need to carry the desert at least 150 and beyond to reach the fairway.

Great course

The course is great staff was very helpful and friendly I'm a 9 handicap and my son came with me he has only played for this will be his second year. There was a group of four we caught up to and they had a 3 some behind them and we were behind the 3. The two groups ahead of us did not fix any ball marks or rake after being in the sand traps. The group ahead of us was all over the place and would wait even at 260 yards till the people ahead were off the green before hitting which really slowed play. A marshall would be good or send a message on the GPS computer when play is behind. Other than this issue it was a great golf day.

Drought in the desert

I forgot they don't provide water bottles on the cart, only an empty ice chest. Will have to remember that in the future. No notice given that there was no beverage cart in service to compound the water shortage.

Ok, maybe not worth price

It’s an ok course. Nothing really special for the price.

I’d probably Revere or Paiute before I did this one or Sienna

Adventures at every corner

From the cart attendant to the pro shop employees were attentive and always ask if I need help. Pace of play was less than slow tee boxes need a lot of care over all I will play here again only if the green fee is cheaper go play boulder creek cheaper and nicer course conditions

Disappointing Experience: Overpaid, Uninformed, and No GPS

We felt our experience at this course didn't match the price we paid. The greens had recently been aerated, a detail we weren't informed of when booking through GolfNow. We found better-conditioned courses for less money elsewhere. Additionally, the golf cart we received lacked a GPS unit, which was unexpected given that we booked through GolfNow. When we inquired about swapping carts, we were informed that ours was a "rental cart" without GPS, despite all other carts having one. This omission was particularly frustrating as we navigated blind shots on an unfamiliar course. Overall, the condition of the greens left much to be desired, and we left feeling disappointed.

Slow burn

Couldn't finish. Over 5 hrs to play 17 holes into darkness. Nobody managing starts or pace of play. Energy seems to be biased into Private Members course

Staff unfriendliness is why I'll never return

I showed up about 75 min early to relax and have a proper warm up. I wasn't allowed to go to the range until I had a cart and I was not given one until 20 min before my tee time. When I asked how to get to the range I was told that I wouldn't have enough time. I asked if ter times were pushed back since they had a shortage of carts and they said no. I went to the range anyway for about 5 min to warm up anyway. I asked a guy driving a cart full of people to the range where to go to get to the first tee. He rudely asked me "haven't you been here before?" I told him it's been a year but I don't remember every 1st tee box to every course I play. Also even if it was my 10th time and I still don't know, why wouldn't you just tell me?

On top of all of this, I get to the first tee box and tee times are backed up and we tee off 15 min after our time. It took 4hrs45min to finish the round. Absolutely terrible experience. For the money I'd rather play Bears Best or Rhodes Ranch or Reflection Bay. I'd suggest going there instead.
