Canyons at Oasis Golf Club

Rode the Blues (6360/71.5/138) in 4.5H with Nick and Mike on a GN "Hot Deal". Finally found a pm "Hot Deal" I could use all my $10 vouchers on. First round this week that the wind was not a huge factor, just breezy, around 65 and partly cloudy.

Lots of elevations changes. This course would be practically unwalkable because of the climbs to many tee boxes and the 1/4+ mile distance from some greens to the next tee. Numerous holes where you played downhill, two of the par 3's were VERY downhill. No tricked up holes, but numerous tight holes and there is trouble everywhere, hence the 138 slope rating.

Tees excellent, almost immaculate.

Fairways excellent to play from, lush and green.

Rough was mostly dormant Bermuda. Very playable, not high but a huge difference from a fairway lie.

Sand traps were below average. Too thin and too many rocks in them.

Nothing tricked up about the greens other than the firmness and quickness. They putted very nice. Medium fast, smooth and firm. I saw the lines well on these greens.

Excellent customer service, they were running right on time. Cart gal around numerous times. Nice, all grass practice facility included in your fee. Comfortable carts but no GPS.

This is a layout that you can only be aggressive in spots, otherwise anything not far offline is going to result in penalty shots. Course knowledge would assist greatly, as there were 3 holes with water hazards that could be reached where you could not actually see the water from where you were hitting the shot. Overall, highly recommended, I liked the layout and would enjoy playing here again anytime.

Bad beginning when starter asked "how many holes do you think you will play?

This was after the course had no carts available until 2 mins before your tee time!

Poorly managed from the beginning!!!

Since our group paid for 18.....

Held up on 80 % of the tees. Had a five some in front on a Fri!

Had a marshal ask us to leave the course by 650pm 1/2 hr before sunset.

Had 9 golfers on a green in front of us....almost laughable if you weren't trying to play 18

Dumb to say the least...

we had a threesome in fornt of us that let us play through on the 5th and we didnt see anyone again until 15

we had a fivesome in front of us and waited on every tee and every fairway

Staff were excellent. Fairways spotty, greens great.

Granted my group was not not well organized, we received an un-gratious welcome in the pro shop and another upon return of the cart.

Most employed were great, but two snide remarks towards my friend's family will linger in my memory. Not what you want to remember when look back at such a beautiful course.

Out of town, course is too expensive for this time of the season

We like the Canyons course better than the Palmer, but wish the back nine wasn't all par 4's and only one par 3 and one par 5...

Made the drive up from Vegas. Winter dormant grass and rain/hail/thunder but had fun. Course layout is challenging, conditions were good with a clear cut between the dormant grass and fairways and greens. Some photogenic views of snow capped peaks in the distance. Lots of elevation change. Staff were exceptionally friendly.

Problem was with the restaurant. Waited before round to order a take out sandwich and never saw a single server. Called in before teeing off on 8 and was left on hold for 20+ minutes before finally giving up. Totally unacceptable.

Snack shop hot dog instead and the lady working there was super sweet. 5 stars for her. 0 stars for restaurant.

Lots of fine vistas around the course. Greens were in very nice condition
