About
Located about an hour from both the Monterey Peninsula and the San Francisco Bay area is Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Gilroy, a city known as the "Garlic Capital of the World" and just east of Santa Cruz. Eagle Ridge's 18 holes of modern-designed championship golf are set amongst the oak forest foothills since it opened in 2000. The golf course features six sets of tee boxes, 92 bunkers, three lakes, seven creeks and also features many multi-tiered greens so it can play as challenging as golfers of any skill level would like. Eagle Ridge Golf Club also features full practice, restaurant and clubhouse facilities.

Better than last time, but still needs work.
My experience was much better than last time as the bunkers were completed and there are no more temporary greens. All of the greens were running quick and true. If only the irresponsible d-bags would fix their pitch marks. Fairways had some bare spots as well as some intense soggy-ness going on so that was a challenge at times. My main concern is the condition of the tee boxes. Some of them were just bare dirt and sand while others were so lumpy it was tough to find a level surface. I think the course needs a tee box renovation with grass that isn’t as spongey next.
Getting better
I had read other reviews that the course had not been in great shape until more recently where some efforts have been made and it's definitely better but there are still some greens that have scarring or brown spots as well as in the fairways. Some of the tee boxes were a little worse for the wear. Looks like they make have some pests they are dealing with. Interesting layout, people are friendly and not much playing pressure on the Wed I played.

Eagle Ridge constantly improving
Since during the COVID I have played this course while Management has been making a lot of improvements to the course. Looks like they are complete now and my friends and I are going to be playiing here alotmore.
The layout is challenging, the staff always friendly and very courteous,fairway,greens and even the sand traps are in great condition.
Most definitely will be back, best deal for the money,especially in this area.

good but not great
Course layout in peaceful community is always fun and interesting. Landscape and houses along around the course looks amazing. Great work done for bunkers but tee box areas are total nasty. I felt like teeing off on the bunker, literally no grass but sands. They need to take care tee box and some of fairways grasses.

New bunkers
If you stopped playing Eagle Ride because of the old bad bunkers you need to give if another shot.
They have made some awesome improvements

Getting better for sure
They have been remodeling the course to improve bunkers and playability, especially around the greens.
The new bunkers are much better. The greens were in pretty good shape. This course still needs to fix some irrigation issues that leaves wet patches next to dry patches.
I enjoy this course, but it's a little shy of 5 stars

Course seemed open but there were a couple of groups that played really slow. Had to skip 2 holes to get by them. Otherwise great round on a great track

Always a challenge at this great track. Some fairways were burned out, but greens were really good. Only issue was old unfixed ball marks. Traps have a lot of new sand but they need work.
