Sloppy and unkept
The tee boxes were unmowed, bunkers are being redone or empty and the back 9 was really sloppy, even though it’s been 4 days since the last rain. if I’m paying $80 I would expect better course conditions or at least warn us or include range balls or something.
This course is usually well kept and viewed as a good deal which is why I booked it when my family came into town. Was embarrassed throughly.
Great course condition
Bunkers are filled with fresh sands. Crews are really friendly. Only the club cleaner at range is mismatched with this great couse.
Great Course, but....
This is not the first time I played here, I like this course but....
First off, this course is fun, it has a few challenging holes, and also some wide fairways as well. The only problem is that during the rainy season, the course does not drain well, and right now the bunkers are full of rocks that can ruin your clubs! However, I think that they will fix this and add more sand, once the weather gets better???
Terrible bunkers
They need to do something with these bunkers, they have no sand in them. Also pace of play was terrible in the back nine, I’m a pretty face golfer but every hole I had to wait. Maybe it was just my luck.
Bad bunker condition all 18 holes
Supposedly, it is a challenging course due to some narrow holes. But. The real challenge is the poor biker condition. This bikers and sands of this course are under poor construction condition and can it see any improvements in long time. I was so regreatful to play a round and pay premier .
Very pleasant surprise!
The course was in decent shape. It was the perfect golf day, not too hot not too cold, not too slow. We'll be back!
a great course but it’s going to be a loooong round
The course is a tough course, but a lot of fun. The biggest issue for his course are the bunkers are in really bad shape and it’s always a long round at this course because they don’t use marshals to police the pace of play. My friend and I play on a Monday mid day and we’re stuck behind a foursome that took almost 3 bourse to finish the front 9, there were 5 holes behind the foursome in front of them. The round took almost 6 hours.
Great layout.
Excellent condition fairways and greens.
Bunkers are going to need attention after winter season.
course too wet
This course played like a fall course except it had not rain yet, in others words too wet. For some reason this course is difficult to keep the fairways and bunkers in good shape. Throughout the course the fairways are in constant repair. Is it the soil of this hillside course that doesn't allow the grass to grow very well or is it that it is over watered? I was very disappointed in the shape of the course and it is not worth the money in it's current state. I do not plan on playing Eagle Ridge for some time. I will hope that i the future it can be up graded and kept in better shape.
Needs greens keepers
I live in giloy and have have not played this course for over 2 years, My golf partner does not like it as he feels it is unfair, I talked him into playing it not realizing what terrible shape it is in. When we checked in the cashier let us know that they have implemented a local rule "if you go in a sand trap, just take it out as they are grounds under repair" . Well most of the course should be grounds under repair, including greens, and fairways. I think the only way it can be brought back to its original beauty is to tear it all out and start again.
I was not informed there was a tournament in front of me :(
I saw 3 ladies go a while before me so I waited and gave them time to play through a few holes. So I then teed off #1 and finished and headed to #2 and THERE THE LADIES WERE WAITING!!! It was very irratateing to me because I had to WAIT FOR 15 minutes until I could tee off!!! Then on #3 They were waiting again and asked me if I wanted to play with them to avoid waiting for them. I said no thank you.Coming up to #4 I saw them waiting right about where I hit my drive so I WAITED AGAIN 10 minutes or so. After that a gentlemen who hooked up with me on #4 said lets go to #10 so we did meaning I MISSED 5,6 &7 because when we went to 10 we decided to check out 8 and see if it was ok to play( ahead of the tournament) and it was ok. Now I had some of the best shots of my life that day . I think I actually hit 4 or 5 BIRDIES :) which was a first for me there at Eagle Ridge. I have a new driver with much more yardage added to my drives but it was my TREMENDOUS 3 WOOD SHOTS on to the GREEN in 2 and CLOSE to THE PIN several times that made me able to BIRDIE SO MANY HOLES!!! Just think if I could have played ALL THE HOLES and not been uptight so to speak what I could have done? Oh Well I will live to play another day at Eagle Ridge BUT NEVER A WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I believe my score would have been a 77 or better.
The course can be a real challenge.
The course layout is very good. Some areas of the course are in very good to excellent shape. Other areas were in poor shape. The course has more bunkers than are found on most courses. The bunkers were in poor shape. Very little sand and unkept area around the traps. Keep out of the traps, it is a fun course to play.
Excellent Value
course is in pretty good shape although there are a few spots in some fairways that are bare due to topography. greens are generally well kept and nicely groomed after recovering from aerations earlier in the month. staff is nice to visitors and accommodating. one of my favorite courses in the South Bay.
I had a bad day. Trying to use a new driver anda little more power. I was off today but I will live to play another day.
I had some very good close chips with my 58 degree wedge and some awesome drives. I pared 13 with some awesome shots 2 laser 3 woods to on the hill above the green 40 or 50 yards away .I made a good read and one heck of a shot to within 6 inches of the hole for a save tap in PAR. On 18 I had a collossal drive and put a 3 wood down on the other side of the green down low below . I chipped a 58 degree with in inches of the hole again for a saved PAR. I shot an 84 but didn't feel in the groove at all. My score @ Gilroy last week was my best ever with my new driver. 74 so it is kinda hard to match up with that. Toodles Noodles
Good Course for the Money
Good level of difficulty. Traps have been badly neglected and played as ground under repair. was in four traps and only needed to drop once due to wetness of the trap.
Eagle Ridge continues to deteriorate
This used to be such a great value and well maintained course. It has continued to go down hill this year since new ownership. Bunkers are not maintained with high grass growing around them. Fairways have many bare patches and several sprinklers are leaking so badly your ball plugs and you are standing in casual water. Some of the greens have patches with no grass. Many areas have 3 foot high thistles growing along the fairway or in front of the tee boxes. The ball washer on #6 was completely missing the top portion; very ugly. It is apparent that there is no pride of ownership for this course.
Best game ever @ Eagle Ridge :) 75
Wow it was such a good day. No one was there on the first 10 holes . I started off with a birdie on 1 & 2 then a great long par 5 with a par. I some some fantastic shots! On 17 I chipped from way down by the street with a 52 degree wedge and the ball was 1 foot from the hole easy tap in for birdie :) Finished up with a beautiful drive by the 150 post and smacked a 3 wood onto the green and almost sunk my first put for a birdie but had to tap in for par. Great day I was very happy :)!!!
A great course to play on
Was a nice course to play I would come back again and again
Eagle Ridge 9/3
Incredibly hot, course was heavily watered, buut playable. Greens very many bare spots, traps very poor condition - bare and rocky
Interesting story about hole skipping.
Personally, I always return after the 18th to play the holes I missed. It's only fair. Glad you experienced a birdie abundance!
