One more course to be added as my-favorites
Booked in as a single player at this course for the first time but paired up with another single and a double, foursome altogether. I had heard about the course before and my initial impression on the course was great and it remained the same throughout. This challenging 18-hole course seemed to have a superb maintenance. There were some breath-taking views that I enjoyed.
Eagle Ridge does it right. Fantastic golf course.
Love this place. They keep the course in impeccable condition pretty much year-round. And their fees are always reasonable. The greens are firm, fast and they roll true. It is a tough test. Nearly every hole out there requires precision off the tee. Hazards are a constant presence tee to green. But at no point does it feel gimmicky, goofy or unfair. They fit this course into the landscape perfectly and it was built with modern drainage and water-management practices so I've never seen it soggy OR dried out.
It gets windy up there. And with forced carry shots and challenging approaches, this course requires you to play smart. I've never broken 80 there, and I've had my butt kicked a few times, but I keep coming back. Worth the drive from anywhere.
Very challenging course
THE COURSE WAS IN GREAT CONDITION. THE COURSE I THINK IS VERY TRICKY AND TOO DIFFICULT FOR MY ABILITY ( 19 HCP ). THE PRICE WAS RIGHT AND I WILL PLAY IT AGAIN EVEN THO I THINK THERE ARE WAY TO MANY BUNKERS OF WHICH THERE IS VERY LITTLE SAND IN THEM.
Beautiful and challenging course
This is really nice course tucked in to the hillside and surrounded homes. It is difficult because it is very unforgiving if you don't hit fairways. Tough for a novice like me but very enjoyable.
Great Golf Course
Looking for a challenge? Here it is!
What a great golf course - I booked this course based on the reviews previous and they were spot on. The course is in amazing shape.. As a 2 handicap, this course was a great challenge - it truly has it all. Difficult driving holes, tricky approaches, challenging pins, and quick greens. Every putt requires full attention.
It's a wonderful layout - I would not recommend it for anyone struggling off the tee, as there is trouble lurking almost everywhere. I recommend playing with someone who's played here before as some of the holes require some local knowledge off the tee.
Great testing course!
Love the course, pace of play was non-stop mostly but it was a busy day. Staff were nice and course was in good condition. Not an easy course and makes you think. We'll be back for sure
One Of The Best
Eagle Ridge is on my list of top 10 courses I like to play, which includes Pebble Beach and Spanish Bay. The setting is lovely and the golf course inspires greater attention, focus, study and planning than most. It's great fun to test my game on ER. As well, we always feel welcome by the staff; the practice area is good; the clubhouse is comfortable; and the drive to ER is easy. Play it!
Lots of variety
Eagle Ridge is a very good golf course with lots of variety and challenges depending on which set of tees you play from. If your drives carry 250 and roll out to 270 or more, you should play the back tees. 200 yard or less total drivers should play the whites. A few of the par 4's are shorter and require layups and accurate placement of the tee shot.
Greens were generally very good on the front 9 , but the back 9 was aereated with medium sized holes 11/18/2013 and not yet sanded, so call the pro shop before making a time to check on current course conditions.
Tournament conditions
Greens were rolling 11+, and on these Johnny Miller undulations, two putting is not trivial no matter where you are! Very challenging!
If you want to challenge your course management skills and shot making skills this is the course for you.
In general the course was in excellent shape (10/12/13). Putting greens were in excellent shap, smooth and very fast and held when flying a ball in. Fairways for the most part were in good shape. a few areas were plugged and dry. The only complaint I had was in several areas around the course the rough was very "Patchy - unfair" I don't mind long/ short/ or mid length grass but having bare spots where the ball will fall into a hole and be surrounded by grass such that all you can see is the top of the ball seems unfair, especially around the greens. if you were a couple "yards" off the fairway, I figure that would be my fault but to be "double" penalized for a shot that is just off the green/fairway seems a little harsh/unfair...
Great course and good fee this time. Surprised by "mud-traps" and uncut greens.
Always enjoy the devious J Miller course. (They are building houses faster than pancakes and we'll bash in the windows as completely as when the course opened first. Just steal some sand from the speculating builders and sprinkle it into the
wonderfully placed traps ---- now simply mud puddles.)
Great greens make a great golf experience.
This is the time of year for the greens to be punched, and Eagle Ridge greens were healing nice, and rolled great.
Great challenge. Great staff.
Great!!!!!! All the way around. Only one complaint. The bunkers contain many stones. Hard to believe with the rest of the course being so pristine that they can't put clean sand in the bunkers. I am talking about a lot of stones.
Good course. Challenging but fair.
I have loved playing here every single time. Good course that is both challenging and fair. Plenty of opportunities for risk and rewards.
However, this week the greens were aerated recently - so they were a lot bumpy and slow. Short putts didn't fall in the cup. Lag putts fell way short. Putted 4-6 strokes more than usual.
Excellent course
Course well maintained and challenging. Great value for price you pay. Looking forward to playing eagle ridge next week.
A potentially tough challenge
I was very excited to play this course for the first time but this is definitely a course you want to play several times before you feel comfortable. I thought that the routing was very challenging, but I was very dissapointed in the overall flow of the golf course and the conditions in some places. With all four of the players in my group never having played the course, we got lost going from the first green to the 2nd tee- a sign would have been nice. And most of the holes have trouble dissecting them- either GPS or a yardage book would have made it a lot less frustrating
Nice course but difficult
Very nice course, just don't plan on finishing your round if you decide to tee off late in the afternoon. We were kicked off the course after completing the 15th hole with easily enough daylight to play one or two more. Price was great at $35.00 on golf now but I won't go back late afternoon again. I'd rather play a course that allows players to play until dark.
Amazing fun from blue or black tee
Many surprises; greens are well guarded; interesting hazards placement; green are in reasonble shape and fast; bad shots are punished and risks taking are rewarded. Will want to play again.
An 8 on a 10 point scale.
Good to excellent condition although bunker sand was variable in quality and depth. Fairways and greens very good condition. Greens moderately fast. About half the course winds through houses similar to Arizona or Hawaii courses. The other half is beautiful California country side, oaks and the "golden brown" of summer. Worth playing. Range is mats only Mondays through Thursdays.
This course challenging and also fun course.
It was great value for the money and I love to go play again soon.
Course is in great condition. This course is for the straight hitter.
