Saturated and bald
Very wet, lots of bare spots on the fairways. Weeds and other foreign vegetation everywhere. Not what it used to be.
Great Day, But A Little Slow
It was a great day overall, but the pace of play was pretty slow.
Single line irrigation
Eagle Ridge is a phenomenal Track but in Mediocre condition. It's my recommendation that ER partner with the city of gilroy and transition to a desert style naturalist golf course with a Single line targeted irrigation system that can substantially shrink the irrigation footprint of the golf course. By transitioning to a naturalist style golf course, ER will save the City water while simultaneously allowing the maintenance staff to MANICURE a smaller portion of the golf course and give Eagle ridge a chance to compete with Coyote creek and Cinnabar hills for members.
Poor Condition
This course is in bad shape. Many of the fairways have large dirt spots in the middle of the them and it doesn’t look like they are reseeding them anytime soon. The greens look like they have fungus growing on them. Light green spots that throw your ball off target. I’m not sure why they haven’t invested more time and money into this course, especially with the cost of the green fees they are charging. It could be so much better
Poor Conditions
I thought that I would give this course another try but after playing it I’m done with it… For the money that they are charging and for it to be in this bad of condition is a travesty. There are fairways that have huge bare dirt areas and it doesn’t look like they are trying to repair them. Some greens look like they have a light green fungus growing on them that makes the ball jump off line. I have to give them some credit though because the sand traps were well maintained and full of sand, good job there. The pace of play was Awful, it took five hours and forty minutes to play and never saw a Marshall once to help speed up the pace. I’m Not going back anytime soon.
Been a while but it’s better than the last time
It’s been several years since the last time I played here. It was very disappointing then, for a great layout! It is much better but it has a long way to go to get back to its glory days! It does show the wear and tear of golfers who just play and have no respect for the course! Large divots (unreplaced) in the fairway many, many unrepaired ball marks in the greens! I even watched the group in front of me drive the carts up and around to the back of the greens!!! This was one of the great public courses in the bay area! It was a deal from Golfnow that made the decision to play!
For a few dollars more, there’s better choices, down the road!!
I would not pay the rack rate!
Course improving but not there
I have been playing Eagle Ridge since it opened. At one time was pristine and top rated course, today having to pay $113 for a course with greens that are pretty torn up and fairways with many bare spots. The tee boxes were not well maintained. Best part was sand traps which they re did and were great. The course layout is challenging and has incredible potential. Knew something was off when had easy to get tee time and through eight holes did not see anyone. Tge driving range was a joke. I hope the put more money into the course that would justify the price. Until tgen will wait another few years and hope gets better
Surprisingly, nice track
I didn’t know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised, especially for the price. I played from the Blacks. From those tees, There were several very long par threes and very long par fours. The par fives were no joke either. There were a couple of tee boxes that had nothing but dirt but for the most part, they were in good shape. The greens were fantastic. I can’t wait to play this course again.
Too slow
This course is hard enough without almost 6 hour rounds. Staffs have to do better job at pace of plays
