Nestled at the base of Mount Diablo, Deer Ridge Golf Club wanders through rolling, oak-dappled hills. The course has several challenging holes but the hazards are balanced by more player-friendly elements like wide, forgiving fairways and generous greens. There is also plenty of room off the tees and at just over 6,300 yards it is a manageable length as well. Though it is gentle enough for beginners, the thoughtful routing and hilly terrain keep it interesting for low handicappers. Deer Ridge Golf Club's front nine is more open and slightly less difficult, but the back nine gets a little trickier with more trees and more dramatic elevation changes coming into play. The terrain gives each hole a unique character and different challenges. The wind can also be a major factor. Good course management will be well rewarded.

Overall good value for the buck, good experience
Overall the course is in good shape considering the amount
of rain in the past 5 days.
We went out around noon, course was full but moved along
finished in about 5 hours. Greens are in good condition as
compared to other public courses.
I would go there again.

I have played Deer Ridge 3 times now. Course knowledge really helps. The course was in very good shape. The course is challenging but not tricky.
Fun short course.
Need marshall to keep the pace of play. It took almost 4 3/4 hours for our threesome to play yesterday behind a group of high handicap players playing from the blue tee hitting the shots all over the map. Totally not courteous as they were taking their time eating at the 9th tee as we caught up with them.
Everything was great, course could use some maintenance.
I like this course alot, never slow play, and the course is in good shape....not great, but good shape.
Interesting course and a great value!
Lots of elevation changes, dog legs, etc. so each hole is interesting. The area is scenic and the course is good for all skill levels. Only negative is a lack of a true driving range.

One of Brentwood's Best
Deer ridge is a great course that requires you to think through every shot...not a long course, but challenging with very nice greens that roll true, but are some of the fastest in the area. Greens can get a little hard towards the end of the day due to the delta breeze.
