Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
About
Nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, Indian Canyons Golf Resort offers two championship courses with stunning views. The two golf courses, North and South, have completely different layouts but they are both sheltered from the wind thanks to the surrounding mountains. The South Course is the shorter of the two, making it the more player-friendly course. That is not to say it is not a challenge though. The rolling fairways are framed by contoured mounding and four expansive lakes come into play on six holes. The par 5s are particularly memorable. There are also well over 1,300 palm trees throughout the golf course, which includes hundreds of Washingtonia filifera palms. These trees are native to the Agua Caliente Tribe and an important part of their history.

17th green, short par 4, layup short of the water before hitting over to a guarded green. Just an iron and a wedge, but what a beauty! Photo submitted by t781893493 on 05/01/2019

Sunrise at Indian Canyons South course Photo submitted by chibbey on 10/04/2012
Great course for everyone
I play this course every time I am in the area. It is a relatively good deal for a local course, is in great shape, and is very scenic. The course is set up to be fun for all golfers but is very good for seniors and women because of the layout and location of those tees.
Top 3 favorite courses in Palm Spring!
I have never had a bad experience. Love every time I play there. The energy from the staff is welcoming, lighthearted, kind, positive. It enhances your experience. The course is really well cared for. I highly recommend the South Course.
What a course
From tee to green, Indian Canyons was top flight. Fairways were in perfect condition with no dead spots at all. Greens were quick but true. The mountain views were amazing and plentiful.
I have played almost every top rated course in Palm Springs and this course ranks right with any of them
Simply, Amazing!!!
Since November 2020, I've had the pleasure of playing Indian Canyons South Course 4 times with a different group of friends (4somes) with varying skill levels from beginner to single digit handicap (Best Ball rules for our beginner friends to keep pace of play respectable, not just for us, but for all.). The course offers a challenging and enjoyable round of golf surrounded by beautiful scenery and conditions. Moreover, the staff at the check-in booth, Pro-shop, restaurant, range handlers, Starter, and cart return movers were a wonderful interaction all 4 times of my experience. My friends and I have played several other courses from Palm Springs to La Quinta and find that a positive interaction with the staff amplifies the experience and makes the drive well worth it, because we're not local to the area by any means. However, we will continue to return and suggest Indian Canyons South Course to friends and fellow golfers as the feeling of "Glad to have you here" continues.
Great conditions
A must play in PS. It does not disappoint. Perfect confusions.
Very nice people and a fun course to play
We had lunch and it was fantastic. Grill chicken sandwich was hot and tasty
The server was amazing
Everyone was extremely nice
This was our first time playing Indian Canyons we will be back
Thank you
Indian Canyon South is a fun course in great condition
There was a frost delay so they packed the tee times which slowed down play a bit but we did not have to wait too long in each tee to tee off.
In spite of the rain the previous day and the frost, the course was in excellent shape and the greens had been mowed an were a nice speed, probably 10.
Interesting layout not too difficult for the average golfer.
Beautiful view lousy greens
This is a great setting with fun holes marred by poor maintenance on and around the greens. Pock marked on all greens and terrible bunker conditions. For my money not worth the price.
Layout very nice
I believe the total package and golfing experience is the best. The only thing that I think is bad is charging for range balls. All the other top courses I play they do not charge for range balls.
Great Course
What a great course to play. Easy to check-in, get a cart and get started. Strategically place bunkers make the course a little challenging but the big fairways gives you the needed break. You can't beat the scenery! What a beautiful course.
