Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
About
Nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, Indian Canyons Golf Resort offers two championship courses with stunning views. The two golf courses, North and South, have completely different layouts but they are both sheltered from the wind thanks to the surrounding mountains. The South Course is the shorter of the two, making it the more player-friendly course. That is not to say it is not a challenge though. The rolling fairways are framed by contoured mounding and four expansive lakes come into play on six holes. The par 5s are particularly memorable. There are also well over 1,300 palm trees throughout the golf course, which includes hundreds of Washingtonia filifera palms. These trees are native to the Agua Caliente Tribe and an important part of their history.

17th green, short par 4, layup short of the water before hitting over to a guarded green. Just an iron and a wedge, but what a beauty! Photo submitted by t781893493 on 05/01/2019

Golfer Reviews
Neat Track
My wife, who is a novice player, joined me for an early morning round today. She played the rust tees which with their reduced yardage made for a very fun and fair experience. This is an interesting course and the conditions were quite good considering how hot it has been lately. We liked it enough that we booked another round for later this week. Everybody was especially friendly and helpful. Looking forward to coming back. Good stuff!
Just a fun course
The atmosphere and the type of players who play this course seem to blend perfectly great time was had by all
Awesome coarse
Great coarse great price only problem they were punching the back nine fairway and didn’t announce it.
Enjoyable round
Really enjoyed the course, good layout good condition and the greens were a good pace. Would play again if I am back in town
Excellent course in Palm Springs!
I booked this course because it was close to where I am staying in Palm Springs and I’m so happy I did!
We played at 6:30 and made it around in 4:10. The course is in great shape considering it is 110 degrees. I will definitely be back in the fall.
Love this course
Every time in the desert I play this course. It’s a must in my book. It’s enjoyable as well as challenging.
Very nice place to play
Fairways were beautiful greens were gray sand traps nice overall I had a good experience of their
Up to par
As usual the course was in great shape. A few bunkers were being renovated and were GUR but didnt affect the game much. A bit surprising, too, because they JUST finished upgrading the bunkers very recently. We went out early at 7:41 to beat the heat and it wasn't that bad. Plenty of groups ahead of us but the pace was about 4:15. Its rated #2 in the Coachella Valley behind Desert Willow Firecliff for a reason. Because it's a great course! We picked a great day/time to take advantage. Only $42 is a steal when the temps barely crept past 90. One of my faves in the desert, I'll be back.
Great layout and great conditions
Got out 630am and got teamed up with some locals and had a great time, very friendly and course in excellent condition
Great condition
Very good value in late June . not super long but quite challenging. Good for all levels of player. Rolling terrain. Nicely treed. Friendly staff. Marshalls try and keept things moving.
Great Conditions.
Played with a threesome of novice golfers as the first group off on a Sunday morning. Even though they were not good players, they were not slow and we finished in 3 hours.
Course in beautiful shape; fairways green and plush; ball sits up nicely. No dead or brown areas. Greens in great shape also, although they rolled a little slow. Starter was very friendly and got us out a little early. Overall conditions were excellent. Course very playable, but challenging as well with water on several holes coming into play. Definitely worth playing.
A Gem
My experience at Indian Canyon exceeded expectations. I enjoy playing on courses that are not super tidy and neat, comparable to my game. Indian Canyon Golf course was seriously one of the finest courses I have ever played on. The entire staff was stellar. The fairways were like carpets, so manicured and clean. The roughs were completely managable and The sand traps have been reconstructed. The sand is fresh. . It was paradise. I am not one to write reviews but I have to give credit where credit is due. Bravo. I will return to this place with vigor and regularity.
In conclusion, this hack job of a golfer shot a 90!
