Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
About
Nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, Indian Canyons Golf Resort offers two championship courses with stunning views. The two golf courses, North and South, have completely different layouts but they are both sheltered from the wind thanks to the surrounding mountains. The South Course is the shorter of the two, making it the more player-friendly course. That is not to say it is not a challenge though. The rolling fairways are framed by contoured mounding and four expansive lakes come into play on six holes. The par 5s are particularly memorable. There are also well over 1,300 palm trees throughout the golf course, which includes hundreds of Washingtonia filifera palms. These trees are native to the Agua Caliente Tribe and an important part of their history.

17th green, short par 4, layup short of the water before hitting over to a guarded green. Just an iron and a wedge, but what a beauty! Photo submitted by t781893493 on 05/01/2019

Sunrise at Indian Canyons South course Photo submitted by chibbey on 10/04/2012
Great course
Played it many times, greens were a little slow, but overall this place is great. Look forward to my next round.
Awesome Condition
Have played this course about 35 times over years and never seen it in better condition tee to green, Greens were slow but played late in day so lots of time for growth on them. Twilight rate was very good. Will continue to play when in area
Great course
Friendly staff, course condition excellent and very playable. Good time
Great condition
The course was in very good shape with very generous landing areas for drives. The pace of play was excellent and the two of us managed to complete the round in 3 hours.
The course overall was in fantastic shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were great. Greens were running 11-12 and smooth. Had to fix my hallmark plus a few more on about half the greens. Doesn’t anybody fix their ballparks anymore? Played the round in 3 1/2 hours. Will definitely play here again in the near future.
Nice layout
I always enjoy playing here. This is one of my favorite courses in the valley. It was a little hot for this time year in the desert (100 degrees). The pace of play was great no waiting. I played as a single. The starter said a threesome was ahead of me, and I would probably catch them. I had a couple of open holes behind me all day. I was able to play at a nice pace and play and practice as a single the whole round. It was a good day. The only negative was the $ 7.00 range ball fee.
Great layout, good condition, good pace of play, poor marshaling
Golf Now did a fine jive setting up tee time. Although the pro shop is modest, the staff was helpful and the course was very enjoyable. I was disappointed in one marshal in particular who engaged another foursome in conversation while we were on a shared tee box while we were hitting. No possible excuse for this. Otherwise a most enjoyable experience.
Right choice
Lovely course in immaculate condition with pretty challenging greens. I’ll remember this one.
A favorite in PS
Always get a round in here. Not a difficult course, but enough water and bunkers to keep it interesting. Course always in good shape and pace mives along. No GPS and not great yeardage markers so bring a scope/GOS. Vart girl needs to get a personality, my only complaint.
Favorite Course
Have golfed Indian Canyons South about 6 or 7 times now. It is my personal favorite in the Coachella Valley. Try it , and take time to look around-
Indian canyon south course
Arrival was good. Staff were all robots with their head sets . The lady in the pro shop was friendly and helpful. Course was in good shape. The water was dirty and the fairway traps had rocks and desert. No sand! So in summary, until the water gets cleaned and proper golf course sand, this course is over priced.
Beautiful course
Our favorite public course in the area. Well maintained with friendly staff. You will love playing Indian canyon south.
Excellent Value
I've played Indian Canyons South 7 or 8 times this year, the most recent being April 12th and I really like the course. The layout is great (with the exception of the quirky 3rd hole), the conditions are excellent and the service is good. One of the days we played, other courses in the valley were unplayable due to high winds and yet we never saw sustained winds at all, just occasional gusts (no higher than 10-15mph). We paid $85 for the first round and $40 for a replay. Good value for an excellent golf experience.
Love this course
Great course somewhat slower than I am used to when I play this course. Marshall told us we could play the front again . We chose not too because I love the back.
Good Course
Was a good course. About what I expected from the info on the web sites. no surprises. Was actually better than I though it was going to be. Greens good. Good course for most all levels. Better players can move back and is still a good challenge. Well worth the price.
Great Day
Course was in great shape. Great lies in the fairways, greens receptive and good speed, pace of play under four hours, scenic, and great weather. What more does a golfer need. First time playing this course and would come back to play it again. Staff friendly, and even ate lunch after the round. Waitress was a hoot. as the title says, Great Day
