Honey Bee Golf Club
About
Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach, Honey Bee Golf Club is one of the area's most popular daily-fee golfing venues. Rees Jones designed the course, incorporating water on 10 holes as well as intricate bunkering throughout. The challenging layout has several tricky doglegs and some treacherous blind shots as well. It's a golf course that demands careful course management and some strategic thinking. Accurate shot placement is also key when maneuvering the rolling fairways and contoured greens. While it's by no means an easy golf course, it is an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels, making it a popular venue for tournaments and corporate outings. For golfers looking to get an entire day of golf in, Honey Bee's sister club, Stumpy Lake, is only about half a mile away.

Great Value
Two of us played on Veterans' Day and got really lucky with some unseasonably nice weather. The course was in fantastic shape. I have an almost automatic habit of playing "summer rules" all year 'round and trying to get a good lie in the fairways. There was no need to do that as the fairways were great. The greens were also outstanding. Soft enough to hold an approach shot and they gave true rolls. I really should play this course more often, and I highly recommend it.
The course was challenging and fun
Honey Bee is challenging and well maintained. Well worth the money spent and I will be back
Challenging
Not really for the novice or occasional type players, as there seems to be lot of more experienced golfers that play this course regularly that are at a much faster pace which they either end up playing through or waiting for the slower higher handicapped players.
Great course in great condition.
From the friendly greetings to the excellent condition of the course, Honey Bee is a wonderful golf club. Greens were fast but receptive to well placed approach shots. The fairways were very good and the rough is what a rough should be - penalizing. There is enough water to be intimidating but not unfair. Keep it in the fairway and you can score well. Get out of the fairway and there are some high numbers possible.
awesome greens
great course with soft greens and perfect fairways. They supply you with plenty of sand to repair divots but unfortunately most golfers don't know how to use it. greens were perfect not too fast and not too slow.
Course, staff, all great
Course in great condition, staff very friendly. Took a friend, enjoyed our day, and the price was economical.
It is a good track
Greens had just been punched so putting is what you would expect. I like the layout and play it whenever there is a deal
Honey Bee is in terrific condition & as challenging as ever!!
It had been several years since we'd been on Honey Bee, we feared the recent rains would have made things soupy. Not so! Obviously there has been great attention paid to past drainage/standing water issues. Well pleased with our entire golf experience at Honey Bee in Virginia Beach! !
Fiarways and greens in good shape
Played in less than 3 1/2 hours. Course in good condition.
Great layout you should play
Although short by distance this course gives you a great time. Opening drive over the water will wake you up. Just to keep it entertaining you will have to get over the water one last time on 18. The only complaint is the bunkers still need work. They look good but are rock hard and filled with many rocks.
Decent
Course was in good shape. When we got there we checked in with our 3 some and they told us one person in our group would have to ride with another randon person which was very odd. Also we got stuck behind a tournament that was going off right before our tee that we were not notified about.. Took 5 1/2 hours to get done. I would give the place another try for sure.
interesting course in better than average condition.
This course has a number of holes that require shots over the water. It's more interesting and challenging than most of the other publicly available courses in the area. the fairways and greens are consistently in good condition. Some traps may be a little thin on sand, probably due to the large amount of rain in the area this summer. The course has early morning discounts as well. It's a good value and worth a trip to play it.
I always enjoy playing this course. Glad that they have joined the GolfNow family.
This course is a great value and is always maintained in a very playable condition. I'm just glad that they decided to get on the GolfNow list of courses in Virginia Beach area.
Eagles!
I wish I could say that the eagle I saw was of my making, but it wasn't. There is an eagles nest on the course which was pretty neat. The course is well kept and the staff is friendly.
