Old Hickory Golf Club
About
Beaver Creek divides Old Hickory Golf Club with nine holes sitting north of the creek and nine holes south. The course has a classic parkland layout that plays across gently rolling hills. The fairways were cut through forests of mature hardwoods but they are wide and carefully sculpted to direct balls toward the middle. Skillful players could even try to use the contours to their advantage. Each hole has a bunkers but the bunkering is not excessive. In addition to the mounding and bunkering, the undulating terrain provides natural elevation changes. The golf course finishes with what is arguably its toughest hole. This monster par 5 is 620 yards from the back tees. It requires a drive over a ravine with a natural waste area to the left. Many consider it to be the toughest golf hole in northern Virginia.

Old Hickory
Great Course! Great layout, Greens, Fairways and Tee boxes! I wish I made enough cash to be a member. I will play this course over and over for $39!!!
Not good
Very poor conditions. Greens slow and not rolled. Tee boxes not mowed tight. Bunkers contain lots of rocks and can’t generally be played out of. Won’t be back.
Enjoyable round at Old Hickory
Really enjoy the layout. Staff is friendly. Course was in good shape, although the greens were slow.
It's a fun, challenging course. My only gripe is that the range is in bad shape. I get it that the lack of space means hitting driver into a net but the mats are a joke. And they no longer include range balls so we just hit balls into the net to warm up. That's not good.
Tough but fair
Always happy when I find a deal at Old Hickory. This is one of my favorites. Hit them straight, and you will be rewarded, if you don't, you will pay dearly.
Good Golfing
Practice round before next weekend's tournament. The course seems to be under construction. Some bunkers were being repair. Some signs were down. The greens were slow. Overall, the condition of the course was fairly good.
Staff Made my Round
Played Old Hickory for the first time and I really enjoyed my round. Staff was very friendly, especially golf shop clerk Sheila. She made my time at the course very enjoyable. I'll be back and tell my golfing buddies how nice the course was.
Golf
Even though greens were recenyly airated its always great to pamy this track. Conditions were great and overall a great day for golfing with friends on this great track. In a couple of weeks it will be even better! We will be back
This course is in horrible shape. No notice on GolfNow that the greens were just aerated. Even aside from the aeration, the greens are in really rough shape. Gouges, burned spots, old holes cut that haven’t been filled in. The bunkers are full of water or otherwise gouged out by water flow and rock hard in other places. Most of the “rough” is just dried out dirt. Fairways are dried out/barren and full of divots. No way this should be anywhere near $75.
Great Course
We played a 3 ball after an evening of torrential rain. However, even though the course was very wet we had a great round.
Staff are very friendly and engaging.
Great Find! Well taken care of course and layout, Must play agin Course!
This is my first time playing on this course.
Saw a Hot Deal, great value so I took it.
It’s bit far from where I live [about 50 min drive] but heard a good rave about this course so decide to play.]
Also, we finally got a weather break and it was a chance I am not going to miss:)
The layout of the course is very nice.
I played all three tees because I wanted to check the difficulty Level of each tee box:)
Which is fun:)
We are still in winter soground is still bit hard but is well managed and the green is in much better shape than other course I played so I was impressed.
Yes, it is wet due to snow melting so it wasn’t fast but still good rolls!
Overall, it’s a fun and nice course that every golfer will definitely enjoy it!
Still a great layout
It’s January, and we’ve had a ton of rain. The bunkers are in pretty bad shape and the course is wet, mainly in the rough. But I still love old hickory, and the rates they are offering make it well worth it. Can’t wait for golf season and April/May when I know the grounds crew will have this place dialed in again
Over priced
Corse condintions could and should be much better shape given the green fees they attempt to charge. Always book via GN as pro shop will charge regular rates which are often ridiculous. $40 is the max I will pay to play here. Pace of play can also be an issue.
