Course is a mess.
I know this is a budget course but I couldn’t believe how bad of shape it was in. Most tee boxes you’re hitting off rocks or sand, most greens are tore up making normal putting impossible. I paid 8 dollars to golf here and I still probably won’t go back. It’s shame because even a little TLC could make this course fine.
Great course for sharpening you short game skills!
This course is great for pitching wedge and putt practice . Last three holes offer an opportunity to use a 6, 8, and 9 iron from the tee to green.
needs work
some greens had large bare spots and crab grass. blue tees were mostly grassless.
LRGC
The tee boxes and greens are not what they usually are and that surprised me.
Best kept secret in Northern VA
I play Lake Ridge at least 3-4 times per month.
The course manager Mr. Clifford has done a phenomenal job cleaning up this course!
It is a night and day difference from last year!
Mrs. Robin in the pro shop is an absolute joy.
Par 3, 9 holes.
Hole 4 and hole 7 are both over 170 yards to practice longer irons or hybrids.
Great for Beginners
The course is hilly so it’s a good workout along with short distances from the tee (60-90 yards). They usually have a sale $7 9-holes, midday on a weekday and if you’re playing alone and would like to work on your short game, $7 is not bad at all. Cheaper than a bucket of range balls. Yes, I recommend this course. The (very slow) greens are better compared to last summer. Maybe because it rained a couple of days ago.
