Coyote Run Golf Course
About
Located just 40 minutes from downtown Chicago, Coyote Run Golf Course is one of the area's best golf values. At just under 6,478 yards from the back tees, the course is challenging enough for the scratch golfer but gentle enough for less advanced players to approach with confidence. Each of the three tees offers a unique look and feel, providing plenty of variety. Water plays a prominent role on the golf course, coming into play on a total of 11 holes beginning with the opening hole. The tee shot on this par 4 requires a carry over water to a generous landing area. Careful course management and skillful approaches to the sloped greens are the key to doing well on this layout. Coyote Run G.C. also boasts a lighted driving range with grass tees and four target greens, practice putting and chipping greens, and even a three-hole practice course.

Worst run golf course I have ever experienced
It was so disorganized and backed up people were having catches with footballs in the tee box
Beautiful Day
The folks who run this course are very good. Spacing of tee times created a perfectly paced round.
Didn’t have to wait on any holes and course conditions were good, even after aeration of greens. Done in four hours.
I really enjoy this course, , not very long but a few challenging holes and generous fairways make it playable for everyone. Staff is friendly, and courteous.
This is my new “go to” course, green fees are reasonable as well.
Well done Coyote Run staff!!
Arguably the most poorly run course in the greater chicago area
- Our round took almost 7 hours due to back ups. While waiting a minimum 15 minutes on every hole, we saw groups having catches with footballs they brought on tee boxes while waiting.
- The group in front of us was extremely slow so we asked the ranger to talk to them about speeding up, the ranger said he would talk to them immediately and then proceeded to drive away the wrong direction and no one approached then about their pace.
- The driving range only had broken and extremely poor golf balls (even for a range). Additionally, the conditions of the range made it challenging to hit the ball.
Always a fun
Enjoy playing this local course. Great layout, great conditions. Attentive staff make it a pleasure
Wow
I’ve played Harborside Port and Starboard courses, Lost Marsh, Ravisloe, Calumet Country Club, and this place either meets or exceeds all of them. Great friendly staff, best course layout around, fairways, greens, etc second to none.
My new favorite course.
Slowest Round of 2020, and no Ranger
By far, the slowest round we’ve played this year. Two groups quit before 15 because of the pace of play of a twosome. No ranger to keep them quick. Literally 30 minutes a hole.
Excellent course
Great course. Well maintained and the staff was super friendly.
Course plays hard
Played on Labor Day expecting a long round but played in about 4:15 so very pleased. Course was in good condition as they continue to water. My only comment is that players need to remember to fix their ball mark plus 2 more as the greens have a lot of marks. I also saw a lot of divot toupees that players need to replace in the fairways.
Enjoy the course layout !
Brought my buddy to to play and he enjoyed the course! The pins were in some challenging placements and with the 20+ mph wind made for a tough round. The greens are hard to read as some of the breaks were way more than expected. The tee starter asks everyone to repair 2 extra divots which is needed as I saw a lot of subtle marks that did effect a bunch of our putts. Will definitely play this course again!
Pace of play is horrid. No rangers to keep pace. Walking should not be allowed on weekends.
The course is fun and not long. Staff was nice.
However, it should not 5 hrs and 20 minutes to play 18 holes. No rangers moving pace. I was once backed up with 2 groups ahead of me on hole 7.
This is why people stop playing golf. Courses that overbook and don’t enforce pace. Won’t be coming back here again.
Nice Course
Started at 325p and finished by 7p. Pace of play was good, course is in great shape. Always enjoy this course, not the longest but challenges you with a little risk/reward on a few holes along with using most of the clubs in your bag.
