Lone Tree Golf Club

First time playing this course since last fall. Course was in fair condition for transition. Very rough and uneven areas in the course. Bunker were mainly dirt - not sand, pace of play was 39 min per hole and there was no Marshall to keep groups moving. There were 4 groups on the same hole ( 1 playing and 3 waiting by the 14th hole). We had to leave at 5 hits without playing the last hole.

Really disappointing since this is a great course layout. We normally play as our “home” course for the spring and fall.

Solid course overall, fairly flat with a few really fun holes. Greens are great, and the surrounding areas are well maintained.

Just charging more doesn't make a course a high-end course.

Course rates had jumped up in the last few years so the rates were not in line with the course IMHO. rates came down a bit and decided to play a mid-week round and was disappointed. The layout is what it is - a few interesting holes but otherwise pretty basic stuff. i had hoped that the increased green fees over the last few years would have been put in the course, either in better conditioning or some tweaks on the layout. Other than a new waste area on one hole, the course was the same and the condition of the course was very average. Plus charging $13 for a small bag of warm up balls is outrageous.

This course has an above average layout, but it was a 5 hour round. We saw the beverage girl three times, but never saw a ranger. It is practically impossible to get into a rhythm when you have to wait so long between hits. This was also during the week and it still took forever. There are plenty of other courses I would rather play for the same money and have a more enjoyable round.

I really don't understand the 4 and 5 star reviews. It's almost like the reviewers haven't played golf outside of Phoenix. The rough isn't rough - it's all bald spots. The greens are mowed crabgrass. I don't know if it's a lack of water and the greenskeeper is doing the best he can with what he has, or if this is what passes for golf in the Phoenix area where greens fees are less than $100. I've lived/played all over this country and I've never consistently run across so many $100 courses that are in bad shape. You shouldn't have to pay $200 to play a decent course.

On the bright side, the staff was cordial, the range was acceptable (grass), and the pace of play was excellent.

The staff was great they accommodated my grandson youth on the course by moving us to 3:36 tee time. Course is excellent and a good challenge. The restrooms on the course were the cleanest I have ever seen on a golf course. We will definitely play here again soon.

Easy to find. Easy check in. Water buckets for towels. Water on course for us. Clean carts with sand bottles ice in chests and the best seats. Tees good and good and flat. Fairways seem pretty dry. Bunkers with some sand. Greens just seem to roll and roll. Played in 4 hrs. Can’t take carts to car. Price finally down
