Bear Creek Golf Complex - Cub Course
About
The Bear Creek Golf Complex offers two golf courses, one championship length course and one executive length course, the Cub Course. This sporty course is ideal for beginners and families. Like its sister course, the Bear Course, there are rolling fairways and well-manicured greens that have unique swales and collection areas. The design features five par 4s and the rest are par 3s, all of which vary in length. A round of golf on the Cub Course can be completed in less than three hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex also boasts several practice facilities including a lighted driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Booked during a tournament and no one said a word until the first trr
Like the title says, booked a round and shower up and say it was way busy than usual. Looked like a tournament but maybe it was this morning. Check in in the proshop, I ask about it and they say they all teed off a while ago and shouldn't be a problem. Get to the tee at our tee time with tournament groups still teeing off and can't even tee off at our scheduled tee time. Took almost 3 hours for 9 holes. What a joke, go play over a Springfield, not far away, but way better to their customers.
The Cub
Course is in transition so fairways, greens, and tee boxes in okay shape. That is expected this time of year. Still, a nice course for the money.
Loved it
Really enjoyed it. Pace of play was good, good value for the money and found morning tee times the day before. Had a lot of fun but the cart staff made the day. Danny was awesome along with the younger guy. Would definitely recommend
Course management
There was leadership or customer service. I could do a much better job attracting and maintaining people. It is all about character and how people would line to be treated and not tomd what to do.
Play, but don’t stay.
We play here weekly. The cub is a great course for tuning your short game or playing with junior golfers (or both)! My iron play and short game have improved dramatically from playing this course so often. The issue I have is the after-golf amenities. We usually like to play in the morning and have lunch in the bar area after our round. On several occasions, including this most recent time, we have sat at one of the tables for nearly 10 minutes with no acknowledgment from the staff. It wasn’t like it was busy, either. There was a table of four, a table of one, and us. The two girls working were standing behind the bar on their phones talking and laughing. Occasionally, an older gentleman would stop by and chit-chat some more. All while paying customers sat waiting. We ended up walking out (pretty sure without being noticed) and stopped by Lone Tree to grab some lunch. A much better experience. We will no longer be staying to eat after our rounds going forward. I suggest you don’t waste your time and money doing it either. Unless getting crappy service is something you enjoy.
Where is the hole signage??
Cub course was in excellent condition but the problem is the lack of signage. On the back 9 it’s almost impossible to figure out where the next hole is. Even when you arrive at the tee box there are no signs confirming the hole or the distances.
Other than that, it was good value
Super value
Great experience on the Cub course. Unfortunately we were unable to find water (after our bottles ran out) no beverage cart. Lucky to be with someone who played the course and even he struggled to find the next tee box.
The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful
Green and tees were in good condition but rest of course was in poor shape. Was expecting better for the money. Will not play again
Good test
I’ve played this course several times over the last few years. The layout is straight away and there’s not much in the way of trees to worry about. The greens were quick so, the round can be magic or turn tragic, depending on your putting. I recommend this course. Never had a bad experience.
Too short and confusing layout
We booked this course because it sounded like a decent 18 hole short game course. The holes however were quite often too short and there was close overlap between fairways and other holes with very few signs or pathways to guide us. Will not be back for the cub course. Maybe one day we will try the larger course but not anytime soon
