Bear Creek Golf Complex - Cub Course
About
The Bear Creek Golf Complex offers two golf courses, one championship length course and one executive length course, the Cub Course. This sporty course is ideal for beginners and families. Like its sister course, the Bear Course, there are rolling fairways and well-manicured greens that have unique swales and collection areas. The design features five par 4s and the rest are par 3s, all of which vary in length. A round of golf on the Cub Course can be completed in less than three hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex also boasts several practice facilities including a lighted driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Bear Creek Cub - a fun outing
The Cub is a short course, and fun to play! It is a great opportunity to work on your short game!!
Great condition
course is fun and in phenomenal condition right now. best executive course in town
Great course in awesome shape
Would definitely play here again. Very fun. Very nice!!
Practice Fun.
The Cub course is excellent for working on your short game... which I need a lot of. the day was clear and we moved along smoothly. No complaints. I wish there was a package where you could buy multiple rounds at a discount and the same for the driving range. But that is a small detail. I had a great time.
Disrespectful check in people.
Be aware that if you book this course through Tee Off or Golf Now App you will be treated like a 2nd class golfer. The three guys behind the Pro Shop counter announced out loud that I got a hot deal tee time and aren’t I lucky. If Bear Creek doesn’t want golfers booking by Apps then they should stop using them. Love the course but shouldn’t have to be disrespected at check in.
Staff not friendly or approachable
Got a Tee time on the Cub Course but wasn’t what I wanted ask to upgrade to the Bear course but said they can’t do that cuz I got on golf now I said I would pay the difference they said no I have to forfeit my $66 and I laughed as there was no one on the bear course at 2pm as it was too hot out….if I was the owner I would fire all 3 of those club house employees 3 old farts with no personality and no customer service at all was treated terribly
Good shape
Course was an executive. Championship is other 18. Could use a driver5-6 times. Some of tees rough but heavy play. Greens in good shape
Always Solid
The review title says it all. Conditions are always better than fine. Greens good. Fairways good. Fun layout. Not in a neighborhood. Friendly staff. Good practice facilities. A little over 4 hours. Nothing to complain about other than the price, but that’s everywhere, so…
Disappointed
we played here on Thursday and our tee time was 12:05. we arrived about 30 minutes prior as most courses request for confirmation of tee time and you are at the course. When we arrived at the starter’s tent we explained that we knew we were early and were going to putt but asked if we could go a bit early. we were emphatically told NO by the starter and the reason was because we got a special rate by booking on app. he was rude and kept repeating that we received a special rate so he would make us wait til the tee time. ok. we putted for about 10-15 minutes. no one on the tee box while we practiced and no one came to start. we went back to our cart and continued to wait and still no ine on tee box and no one approaching that tee box sat empty for nearly 1/2 hour. we weren’t asking to go 1/2 hour early but maybe 10 minutes. this is ridiculous and unreasonable under those conditions. as it is AZ residents don’t receive any kind if reduction of rates and we are the year round supporters not snow birds. if the course isn’t open to accommodating golfers in certain circumstances then maybe they need some sort of help. will think again before going back and make sure our golfer friends know too
Tee times
first of all, the staff is usually very friendly and accommodating as well as the restaurant staff. It always has a good vibe that being said we had a teatime of just after noon. like most courses, they request that you be there a half an hour ahead of your teatime which we were when we approach the starter on the cub and told him we knew that we were a bit early. He immediately copped an attitude and told us well you’re gonna have to wait. You can’t go out early because you got a special rate. The tea box was completely empty and nobody behind us we explained that to him and asked him if we could go out and he said you’re still gonna have to wait. You can’t go out until your teatime so there we sat after we put it for a bit waiting to go out and there was still nobody coming up to the tea box we waited approximately 20 to 25 minutes to get out. and then he came and told us that we could go because a group canceled so what sense does that make when you have an empty tea box and you’re trying to keep pace of play on a course as it was we were able to finish the round in 2 1/2 hours making somebody wait while there’s completely empty tea boxes and nobody in front of you and nobody behind you is a bit ridiculous and if the excuses that you got a special rate because you booked on an app. Why participate With that app, then it’s different when it’s the weekend I get it, but this is in the middle of the week pretty disappointed in the staffing
Price to Book
The course was good and process was also good. The $50 charged by this site to secure tee times seemed very high. There was no discount on the round, just a service fee. Likely won’t use this site for future tee times.
Bear vs Cub
When I booked this course back home in ND, I didn't realize that there are (2) different courses.
Come to find out that we are playing the Executive Course as opposed to the longer course was a big disappointment. Especially for the green fees.
Probably won't return to this course.
