Crow Creek Golf Club
About
The course is owned by Jerry McLamb and built on his 500-acre family homestead. The front picks its way through old tobacco fields and vegetable gardens, and its flatness makes it susceptible to the coastal breezes that kick up in early afternoons. There is both bunkering and mounding, though both are subtle. The back nine winds through Carolina woodlands, and has a different feel with tree-lined fairways and rolling contours. The strongest stretch of holes on the course is from No. 15 to the closing hole. Overall, the course is a well-groomed, playable layout with large, bentgrass greens and a pleasing, traditional layout.
Crow Creek has made a name for itself among Brunswick County's 30-plus golf courses by supplying golfers with a playable, well-groomed layout replete with airplane hanger sized L93 bentgrass greens and sensibly designed golf holes.

Reviews
Fun little track
It was a cold windy day,49 degrees with a 20 mph wind gust!!! Made the course a little bit more difficult!!! With them getting snow a few weeks prior of us playing!!! I was happy with the work they were doing and trying to get back to normal.
Outstanding Course, Pristine Conditions
Outstanding well-kept course with nice fairway grass for February. Fun holes, some challenging but playable. Excellent cart paths. Greens true with medium slopes.
Greens rolling pure!
Great design. Wide landing areas on fairways. Exquisite sand in bunkers.
Crow Creek Review
Golf course was in excellent condition; greens had very good speed; staff were excellent. Only negative was very slow pace of play.
Crow Creek Review
The course was in great condition and challenging for all player levels. The greens were in excellent condition and had very good speed. The only negative point was very slow pace of play.
Course is great shape
I thought the course played hard but fair. If you stayed in the fairway you are able to make good scores. Greens were fast but pin locations were great so you could go at most of them.
Consistency, meeting expectations
Play meets expectations; greens and fairways consist. A bit pricey given other golf choices in the area.
great day - bumpy greens
2nd or 3rd time to Crow Creek. They changed the greens to bent grass in the last year or two. they were bumpy and a bit slow. Greens are 80% of any course I rate so my critique typically starts there. These were not horrible but not super impressive, either. Approach shots would / could hold, so soft enough for that, but they were inconsistent - bumpy in spots. Just not moving fast on a stimp meter, that is for sure. that said - it is a nice track. nice course design, moderate to difficult, I play to a 10 handicap. It is fair.
Nice course but over-priced
In terms of course layout Crow Creek was about average for the greater MB area -- certainly better than many of the older courses, but nothing very special or very challenging. The bent greens were unfortunately in pretty rough shape due to much recent rain and hot temps.
We paid $105 to play here. This is not a $105 layout when in good condition, and is even less so in the condition we played.
Currently not a good value
I have been looking for a go to in the area since Farmstead closed down. I have given Crow Creek a few plays because I really enjoy the layout. However, it is currently not a good value. They are asking around $100 and it is not in very good shape. I will say a couple of things in defense of the course. It has been raining a lot lately. And the summer has been hard on the bent grass greens I am sure. I have played it in January when it was in good shape. However, the price should reflect the conditions and currently they do not.
First the grass needed to be cut pretty much everywhere. The tees and fairways were very long and thick. Now it was Sunday. And I know it’s rained a lot in the area. So they may not have been able to cut them recently. But they were too tall. The greens are not in 100 dollar shape. I know they are bent grass and it has been way too hot and humid for them this summer. Several of them were looking rough. Again. The cost should reflect that in my opinion. The layout is great and I enjoy it. But I’d probably wait until fall or winter when the bent grass should thrive before I played here. It’s not worth the price in its current condition.
