Haven't played Darkhorse for 20 years and brought two friends and we were all very impressed with the course. Greens were in great shape and great layout. Good pace of play too. Really liked the TopTracer range. We will definitely return!

I built a home here and live on the 16th tee.

I hadn't played Darkhorse in a few years, and it's a bit of a pull from Sacramento (~23 mins north of the Auburn Hwy 49 exit on I-80), but man what a beautiful piece of country in the fall with the leaves turning. The course was in really good condition and the multi-tiered greens were rolling good and required thoughtful strokes to get a good result. We had a beautiful day and the price was right too. Will be back soon.

Course is in really good shape. Greens are challenging.

Fun course, challenging and the greens were in excellent shape. For whatever reason, other players just didn’t seem to fix their pitch marks on the greens. I probably repaired 3 or 4 besides mine on each hole and there were still plenty to go. Also, a lot of dragged cleat marks on the green. Maybe it was an anomaly but they should put up signs to remind the patrons regarding player’s etiquette.

The course doesn’t have any ball washers which I thought was odd, so make sure you bring a wet towel. Also, bring your own snacks since the food service is pretty spartan right now. Otherwise, the greens and the overall course are well maintained and the layout made you think your way around. I’ll definitely be back (with my own wet towels and snacks!) LoL.

Only gripe is the geo-fenced carts with inconsistent fencing. Lots of backing up. But the course is fantastic right now.

First time playing not a good score but really enjoyed the course. Ready to give it an another go as soon as I can! Our group of 3 all felt the same. A little drive from Rocklin but worth it.

We teed off at 12 pm and took over 5 hours to get to the 18 hole because of the group ahead of us. And we ran out of sunlight and couldn’t even even finish 18. Darkhorse, please actually have a Marshall on-site and make slow moving groups pick up the pace. Other than that, an amazing course.

Course is in good condition, greens appear to have been punched recently.

This course is a hidden gem. Every hole is memorable. Just needs a clubhouse and Marshalls to be one the best courses in the entire country.

The 5 1/2 hour round pretty much convinced us to stay at Winchester. There was no Marshall to help speed things up.

Great course - my only issue was that I used an online voucher I purchased about 6 months ago which was good 7 days per week after 10am. When I went to use it yesterday (Friday) I was told it was $14 extra each to use it on fridays which wasn’t the case when I bought it. The purchase date should be considered when redeeming vouchers.

Greens were in great condition. Otherwise not impressed with much else. Slow play overpriced mismatched range balls. Have to walk your clubs up from the parking lot. Only reason I go back is for the scenery.
