Wolf Creek Golf Course

If you like sloped greens that run pretty quick, you’ll love WC. There are very few flat spots and some of the pin placements were borderline ridiculous. That said, it’s a fun but quirky layout with both par 5’s and par 3’s on the front in the first four holes and then saving both par 5’s on the back for the 17th and 18th. Tons of blind shots, but some drivable par 4’s makes for a fun afternoon of golf.

Will never come back. Used to be nice. Absolute garbage now.

Course is in real good shape for this late in the year. Caught a good price via TeeOff which made it worth it. Unfortunately the deals seem to be pretty limited this year. I wouldn’t pay the full (normal) asking price to play here, but it is a fun course to play. Pace of play was a little slow due to a foursome that seemed to be playing from tees that were outside their caliber and extreme over-analysis of the greens. All and all a good day on the course.

I’ve played this course countless times and I always enjoy it. However last Wednesday, while there’s a pandemic in full force, we were forced to share golf carts...even though there was a twosome and a three some in front of us that weren’t sharing carts. I told the ranger, that had an attitude, that we’d prefer to keep it 1 to a cart and the two groups in front of us were doing the same. He said that it wasn’t possible and he’d tell the groups in front of us the same thing...as he drove back to the club house. As much as I like this course I’ll never return again. We’ve played golf several times during this pandemic, all around Atlanta, and this is the first time we were forced to put ourselves in the line of fire. It really ruined our round.

This is a fun course. It's the kind of course I was grateful to have been paired up with regulars who knew where to hit. It's not a super long course. The rounds starts out with a par 5 > par 3 > par 5, which is an intense way to get a round going. There is come big elevation changes and nice elevated par-3s that are a lot of fun to play.

The main issues are with the operations of the course. My GolfNow reservation was not in their system. My tee time was booked. They worked me in with a group of 3, which is perfect. There were no golf carts, which delayed everything by 15-20 min. There was a pile-up of people on the first tee because all the tee times got messed up. The started wasn't exactly keeping it all together. I was on the verge of asking for a refund and leaving... starting a round of golf already frustrated is not a good sign, but once we got out there it was fun. 5 hour round of golf tho! Yikes.

The course is in great condition, the greens are fast, even though some people forget to fix their ball marks. If you hook or slice at all, your best option is to lay it up in the fairway because you will lose many balls. If you aren’t on the fairway, you will lose your ball on almost every hole in the rough or the really rough boundary grasses. There are several blind holes where you will spend much time looking to see where your ball landed. If you are accurate, you will love this course, if not, bring many balls you aren’t too attached to and hit a provisional ball just in case.

Play was extremely slow. To many twosomes and to many playing together at once. (5 or 6)

Pretty tight...... makes you place your ball and hit it solid. Will pay for bad shots. Liked it!

We love Wolf Creek. On this day the greens just weren't what they usually are. Sandy, bumpy, aerated and full rate for the round with no heads up conditions.

Thickest rough in America. I was one foot off the fairway and could barley see the top of the ball. Great staff, great layout. Had an awesome time. Side note: course ends with two par 5’s gave me a chance to gain some strokes.
