Victoria Hills Golf Club located in Deland has jaw-dropping beauty. Victoria Hills could easily be called "The State of Florida's Garden of Golf,"- inland settings such as this are virtually unprecedented in this state. Yet while the splendor and natural beauty of the property are notable, this is not simply eye candy and lazy golf. Victoria Hills, as one player put it, "is a blast to play". In any evaluation, it's difficult to imagine how a golfer would not rate a round here as one of their most enjoyable in Florida.

Change at the Turn
Front 9 greens were in terrible shape. Absolutely terrible…unplayable in some situations.
The back 9 was a total 180 and the holes and greens were in much better shape. Nice layout and enjoyable to play. If the greens were in good shape through all 18 holes it would be a must play.
Not fit for play
I got an email to do a review? Pretty crazy of them given the shape the course is in. The front 9 should be closed until fixed, the greens are horrific and the fairways not much better . Also noticed the workers not doing anything constructive. I have to wonder if there is any active management. Total absence of any weed control on the whole course. 10th hole is all roped off but open but no visible sign of anyone fixing anything, hey guys big bare spots do not fix themselves! Love to know who owns this mess and why they are intent on ruining a golf course that was once great?
Whats up with the greens
The course was in moderate shape. The greens were another matter. The front nine green were in terrible shape . There should have been a warning on the site. They were sand and I don't mean they were covered in sand they were sand. There was hardly any grass. I have played the course many times but this will make me reluctant to play it again. The staff has always been reliable but they didn't tell the course conditions. I didn't take any pictures to show how bad it was and I wished I had. Till something changes for the conditions we won't go back.
Greens like a beach.
The course itself had seen better days. Unfortunately one of the green keepers informed us that on numerous holes the greens had been almost irreparably damaged by misapplication of chemicals.
This was almost made up for the incredibly friendly staff, however at that price range I would choose to play elsewhere in the future.
don't go terrible greens
I like this course but it is quite a distance from home so do not play here often. Currently the greens on the front nine are unputtable, rough, sandy just awful...back nine is ok. Crew there said it should be back in shape by June.
Self
Fairways are OK at best and the Greens are terrible on the front nine and ok on the back both need alot of work.
WARNING! DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE
Absolutely false advertising! the photos on the website MUST be 6 years old or more. There is almost no grass on the greens on the entire front nine holes. they must have stopped fertilizing 3-4 years ago. the conditions are deplorable. I wouldn't play it if it was free.

Course needs major turf renovation
I first played this course soon after it opened (about 20 years ago). It was challenging and beautifully maintained.
I played this course a couple of times last year (2022) and said to myself I would never play it again. The fairways and greens were terrible.
I decided to give it another go this year, hoping enough players had complained about the conditions that improvements would have been made.
Nope. Worse than last year.
Fool me once...
Conditions Terrible
Course is in the worst shade I ever seen a golf course and for the price stay away go somewhere else anywhere else and play. Greens are lost no fairway grass and tee boxes are weeds and dirt I don’t know how this course gets any play.
Not worth the money we paid!
The course layout is great but the greens were horrible! It felt like we were putting on concrete and the ball would roll all over the place like a pinball machine. You shouldn’t be charging $49 plus tax with the greens in that bad of shape.
Needs Lots of Work
Word has it that when growing season starts they will be working on it but as it is now it is trash. I knew when I went that it was bad so for $34 I got to practice some shots.
Not bad needs work
The layout of this course is awesome. The greens are overall not in good condition with the front 9 greens being in way worse condition than the back 9. Tee boxes and fairways weren’t bad either just inconsistent. If the greens were in good shape this course would be a go to every time.
Front nine was the worst I’ve ever seen! Back nine was very good condition!
